Understanding Nutrition Needs

Maintaining the right balance of dietary habits and exercise is a key step to living healthier. By helping consumers understand the nutritional value of food, importance of portion size, calorie intake, and daily physical activities, PepsiCo is encouraging people to live healthier.

Finding The Right Balance

We believe a key solution to maintaining a healthy weight is energy balance – managing calories in with calories out. You can plan social activities around your daily exercise routines. Take walks with friends or meet them at a local coffee shop for a bike ride. At work, climb the stairs, and walk to a colleague's office instead of using the phone. At home, keep a food journal to help you understand your eating habits. Start incorporating small diet changes, like switching to salad instead of fries or chips. And remember, it can take time to incorporate changes into diet and exercise habits, so be patient.

PepsiCo Products In a Healthy Diet

Our products offer choices to help you balance your energy intake. We offer options with added whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and low-fat dairy and reduced fat, sodium and added sugar. You can enjoy these healthful choices worldwide, whether it's SoBe Lifewater in the US, Walkers or SunBites in the UK, reduced-fat Sabritas or Gamesa-Quaker oats and cereals in Latin America, or pure premium Tropicana or Trop50 juices and Quaker Oatmeal products anywhere.

At PepsiCo, our nutrition experts are focused on creating practical solutions to enhance the well-being of our consumers and help them understand energy balance. It's our goal to make good nutrition both easy to understand and easy to incorporate into daily life. By providing useful nutrition information and healthful product choices we are encouraging people to live healthier.

Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation Partner Links:

In 2009, PepsiCo Foundation made a three-year commitment of $2.5 million to the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF). This is funding efforts in the marketplace as well as workplaces and schools to increase understanding and opportunities for physical activity and nutrition education, and to raise awareness of the energy balance approach.
