Job Purpose Statement

This role is responsible for managing and executing the day to day human resource activities and initiatives for the Bluebird site. Working with the Senior HR Manager (HRM), this role develops and implements initiatives that improve engagement, communication and business results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide generalist HR support, advice and coaching to Bluebird managers and employees
  • Support the Senior HRM in the design, development and execution of key initiatives focussed on building culture, capability and talent
  • Implement core HR programs and processes including performance setting, career development, counselling and discipline, learning and development
  • Manage key HR and ER matters, ensuring compliance with the legislation, agreements and policies
  • Provide operational analysis and insights relating to workforce profiles and trend
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people
  • Carry out any other reasonable and lawful directions that may be given from time to time by the company

Key Challenges
  • Understanding of the commercial landscape to ensure initiatives, processes and advice meets the needs of the business
  • Effectively managing within NZ’s complex industrial relations environment
  • Developing and driving cultural change or enhancement initiatives that focus on both improving engagement and productivity gains
  • Effectively working across a range of different functions (operations, sales, support functions)


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • HR generalist management experience within operational environments
  • Strong coaching and business partnering skills
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Strong organisation and project management skills to deliver quality work within a fast paced environment
  • Strong focus on delivery and results with high drive and energy levels
  • Detailed and analytical thinker
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes
  • Ability to connect and engage with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Resilience and business maturity
  • Solid experience in managing grievances, disciplinary and counselling situations
  • Detailed understanding and demonstrated ability of applicable legislation
  • Tertiary qualification in human resources or related discipline desirable
