Job Description

The North America Shared Services (NASS) Control and Reporting Associate Accountant role will be located in Plano and will have primary responsibility for supporting Global Procurement and Food for Good activity. This role is a CONTRACT role with the possibility of turning permanent. This role will also support the Global Horizontal Sr. Accountant in various period end close activities for multiple Horizontal entities including Global R&D and G Groups. These activities include but are not limited to, processing of multiple types of journal entries such as accruals, intercompany transactions and reclasses, preparation of domestic and international billing invoices, and preparation of multiple account reconciliations. The role will also review CIP balances and prepare the necessary templates to capitalize spend and submit retirements and transfers of existing assets. In addition, this role with assist with reviewing CAR’s and SOW’s.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all journal entries <$250,000 are appropriately authorized and adequate supporting -documentation is attached.
  • Pull good receipts greater than $250,000 for Account review of appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Pull goods receipts greater than $50,000 for review of Capital Spend.

  • Ensure accurate reporting of financials by identifying, preparing, and processing journal entries.
  • Assist with journal entry preparation and processing.
  • Process Food for Good receivables and prepare monthly reporting.
  • Follow processes and policies developed by NASS Accounting Services Group (ASG).
  • Reconcile and load into Blackline assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Ensure reconciling items between Project Accounting and General Ledger greater than $10,000 are researched and resolved within 2 period closes.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual requests for Internal/External Audit, Tax, and Accounting Services Group for Accountant review.

Ad hoc
  • Ensure process documentation is maintained for all areas of responsibility
  • Ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
  • Create cost centers, projects and adjust hierarchies as needed


Required Education & Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3+ years experience in Accounting / Financial Systems
  • 2+ years experience in SAP
  • Microsoft Excel and Access experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes
    CPA/CPA Candidate
