North America Shared Services (NASS) is a multi-location center of excellence delivering financial services and capabilities for North America in partnership with our managed services providers. Services are provided to all PepsiCo divisions in the US and Canada. NASS has two campuses located at the PepsiCo Legacy Campus in Plano Texas, and the PepsiCo Customer Service Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Associate Accountant role will be located in Plano and responsible for supporting multiple Global Horizontal organizations through accounting, analysis, and reporting of each period’s close activities. The position includes high volume of journal entries supporting period close, domestic and international billings with invoice creation, prepaid reviews, account reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting each period. Year-end activities bring higher volumes of review for accruals and prepaid spend as well as capitalization's to finish out project spend for the year, so this contractor would assist by executing GR/IR Audits and capitalization support for the team. They will also provide assistance in other areas where needed.
  • Ensure all journal entries <$250,000 are appropriately authorized and adequate supporting -documentation is attached.
  • Pull good receipts greater than $250,000 for Account review of appropriate accounting treatment.
Ad hoc
  • Ensure process documentation is maintained for all areas of responsibility
  • Assist with adhoc reporting and special projects as needed
  • Assist Facilities group with any research or JE requests they might have.
  • Create cost centers, projects and adjust hierarchies as needed
  • Assist with journal entry preparation and processing.
  • Prepare capitalization requests for multiple Global Horizontals by pulling invoices and completing template to prepare for review by Sr. Manager
  • Follow processes and policies developed by NASS Accounting Services Group (ASG).
  • Prepare reconciliations for assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Ensure reconciling items between Project Accounting and General Ledger greater than $10,000 are researched and resolved within 2 period closes.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual requests for Internal/External Audit, Tax, and Accounting Services Group for Accountant review


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2+ years’ experience in Accounting / Financial Systems
  • 1+ years’ experience in SAP processing journal entries and knowledge executing ledger inquiries
  • Microsoft Excel and Access experience
