Job Description

The Control and Reporting Sr. Coordinator is within the Accounting Services Group of PepsiCo NASS (North America Shared Services) and is located in Plano, TX. It supports the Information Technology (IT) Division. The position is responsible for the contract labor vendor accrual process which includes working closely with the Project Managers and vendor contacts to ensure efficient processing and proper accounting of the transactions. In addition, this position is responsible for check deposits, quarterly and periodic SOX testing, and various period end closing activities including processing accruals and journal entries. Assist Control and Reporting Accountants as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with journal entry preparation and processing for project accountants
  • Ensure reconciling items between Project Accountant (PA) and General Ledger (GL) are researched and resolved within the period
  • Prepare and upload entries for period and year end accruals
  • Prepare deposit forms for all checks received from IT, NASS and other divisions each period. Ensure each check contains proper coding.
  • Compile and coordinate IT journal entries greater than $250,000 to create report for IT business partners
  • Verify automated reports are complete and accurate to reconcile G&A project and cost center charges
  • Compile and coordinate the good receipts greater than $250,000 for prepaid assets and the capital good receipts greater than $50,000
  • Manage labor accrual process for contract labor vendors, ensure proper accounting, and upload periodic entries
  • Responsible for SOX control FR-15 which ensures all accounting services journal entries $250k and greater are appropriately authorized and adequate supporting documentation is attached. This control includes individual to pull sample journal entries, complete test script, and send final documentation to SOX Coordinator
  • Responsible for SOX capital confirmation supporting control which ensures projects greater than $1.0MM are appropriately classified as capital


Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate or High School diploma with equivalent Associate degree experience
  • 2+ years experience in Accounting/Finance or related business field
  • Microsoft Excel experience

Preferred Experience:
  • 1+ years experience in SAP
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes
