Job Description

•Implement procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 standards and PepsiCo Standards.
•Partner to EHS Rep teams, accident investigations, risk assessments, improvements and change management. Develop action plans for program implementation.
•Follow up on complaints of non-conformance/non-compliance arising from inspections, meeting or interactions with employees, clients, suppliers or government officials.
•Coordinate weekly and monthly statistics and reporting
•Coordinate Occupational Hygiene programmes.
•Conduct internal and external audits including; GEHSMS audits, Incident Investigations, Inspection and Risk Assessments and feedback to FLM team to drive continuous improvement.
•Develop and deliver training to the front line teams on environment health and safety systems and requirements including safe working practices and coordinate legal OHS Act training.
•Ensure training on all critical tasks and safe working practices are done and keep records of these.
•Review and own environment health and safety induction program for employees, contractors and visitors at all levels.
•Plan and execute emergency drills as per the potential risks identified on site and produce reports.
•Organise EHS functions or special days for the site.
•Make decisions on appropriate corrective actions with respect to accident investigations, PGIs, and risk assessments in consultation with SAT teams, FLMs and Ops Mgrs.
•Make decisions on specification of PPE in consultation with Occupational Health.


•Matric +3 year qualification in Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent.
•Knowledge of legal/working requirements (Preference for Risk Assessment, OSH Act, COID Act and relevant environmental legislation).
Knowledge of GEHSMS programme
•Ability to set, guide and influence a wide EHS agenda.
•Ability to influence behaviour of peers, FLEs (without direct reporting relationship), FLM’s and Operations Managers.
•Ability to coach and support others to ensure requirements understood/met.
•A passion in Environmental, Health and Safety Management.
•Knowledge of production processes and frontline employee job requirements.
Experience in a similar role with transferable competence set as above
