We have a really exciting role a commercially minded marketer to shape & influence our ‘Better for You’ strategy and portfolio for Lays & Walkers across West Europe, including ‘Oven Baked, Lights and future innovation.’

Lays & Walkers are the Market leaders in Snacks in key markets like UK, Spain, France, and Holland & Belgium. With changes in consumer behaviour and continuing focus towards healthier lifestyle choices, we are passionate about creating products which provide for healthier snacking opportunities.

We are looking for someone with the ability to tap into cultural trends and turn our ‘Better for you’ brands into strong incremental growth machines for healthier snack opportunities. This is a 12 month maternity leave cover position and our desire is to have the right candidate transitioning into the role from mid-April.

As Marketing Manager, the key scope for the role will include:

Strategy & Portfolio Management

Define portfolio architecture, portfolio role and calendar prioritisation for the key markets
Develop / rework positioning of each sub brand to maximize incremental revenue
Work with cross functional partners such as R&D and commercialisation to develop & test new product ideas that deliver compelling BFY benefits for testing with consumers.
Develop a roadmap and plan for how we sustain existing BFY initiatives such as Oven Baked
Leverage & implement the turnaround plan for ‘Oven Baked’ crackers across Europe

Define the Marketing Support Model for sustaining BFY initiatives:

  • Lead team to develop hard working playbooks (coms, activation, packaging, innovation) for each key priority sub-brands to deliver 2019+ calendar plans (from where to play, how to win, vision, creative idea, execution across assets and guidance for effective implementation in media and on the shop floor)
  • Deliver distinctive comms toolkit to support BFY platforms for Lays in 2019
  • Define the business model to scale growth for key priority sub brands within A&M limitations and sustain portfolio on 2nd priority sub-brands

Key stakeholder management
  • Alignment of leadership teams to vision, strategy and execution along the key milestones
  • Develop strategy + execution in interaction with local markets, maximizing synergies whilst ensuring strong relevance in each of the markets
  • Cooperation with Lays / Walkers European team to drive growth for BFY within Lays / Walkers, ensure payback to mother brand and incremental role in calendars
  • Drive coms and innovation pipeline in close cooperation with Global Lays Brand team
  • Lead team of agencies to deliver compelling creative ideas and execution
  • Lead and influence x functional partners to deliver incremental, sustainable innovation at scale

Qualifications/Requirements

We are looking for talented Marketers with proven experience working within a complex matrix and multiple markets. Our ideal candidate will have strong innovation and ‘big brand’ experience.

  • Proven track record in launching and sustaining insight led innovation
  • Self-starting and proactive leadership
  • High strategic + analytical skills
  • Strong marketing toolkit in brand positioning, consumer insights, coms and innovation
  • Create effective, motivated and sustainable relationships with brand teams, direct reports, x functional teams
  • Proven demonstration of influencing of key stakeholders
  • A&M and P&L responsibility
  • People management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in matrix / Navigate through complexity + ambiguity
  • Effective communication
