Job Description

This position will lead the Quality and Sanitation functions for the Quaker Bridgeview, IL Manufacturing Site.

  • Provide functional leadership for Quality and Food Safety results, processes and priorities across the Bridgeview Site
  • Serve on the Site senior leadership team to provide functional perspective but also support the Site’s overall success
  • Lead the Site to consistently adhere to Quality Systems Health Audit (QSHA) processes and standards, while driving improvements over time
  • Focus on delighting our consumers through executing our Quality processes effectively to drive down consumer complaints over time
  • Prevent Quality incidents and losses from occurring through root cause analysis, corrective actions and proactively identifying and eliminating risk
  • Protect the quality of our products and brand reputation with our consumers, customers, company and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure the Site is complaint to AIB, F22K and PepsiCo requirements and lead the Site through all annual announced and unannounced Quality and Food Safety Audits
  • Provide technical support and partner with the Bridgeview Operations, Warehouse, Planning and Maintenance teams
  • Manage the Material Compliance Department ensuring highest quality of incoming raw ingredients and packaging materials
  • Lead and develop Quality and Sanitation Resources (5 Supervisors) to drive improved quality results for the Site through engaging and leading their hourly teams (~30 employees)
  • Support formula, material, innovation and productivity changes at the Site from a Quality functional perspective
  • Develop and provide effective Quality and Food Safety training to hourly and salary team members at the Site
  • Provide and support a safe working environment for all team members in the Quality and Sanitation organization and support broader Site-wide safety initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field
  • A minimum three (3) years of work experience in food (ideally) or beverage manufacturing, including hourly and salary people leadership experience
  • Past background and experiences leading quality, food safety, and sanitation initiatives
  • Knowledge of sophisticated processing and packaging machinery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively convey results and key priorities across all levels in the organization
  • Collaboration and influencing skills to work cross-functionally within the Site and with Corporate
  • Demonstrated both tactical / operational and strategic acumen
  • Experience leveraging continuous improvement and problem solving approaches (e.g. TPM, LSS)
  • Ability to flex schedule based on business needs to support their team and Site in 24x7 operation
  • Must be willing and able to travel 5% of the time
