Candidates must be willing to relocate anywhere in the Midwest within 6-12 months. Training for this role will take place in Sedalia, MO. After training is complete (in 6-12 months), relocation benefits will be provided for the Sales District Leader to move to a location in the Midwest Region.

Pepsi Beverages Company (PBC) is PepsiCo’s beverage manufacturing, sales and distribution operating unit in the United States and Canada. This position will be part of the North America Beverage organization.

The Sales District Leader Designate role is designed as a 6-12+ month leadership training program. Sales District Leader Designates will receive a customized on-boarding plan to assimilate and develop the necessary skillset in preparation for a Sales District Leader position. The formalized training program for this position involves 4-6 months of route level work to learn the foundation of the business and develop an understanding of our Direct Store Delivery (DSD) network and supply chain.

Upon completion of the training program, the SDL-D will be promoted to a Sales District Leader in another location in the Midwest Region. The SDL will have responsibility for all aspects of managing a sales district comprised of 10-20 Sales Representatives. All Sales District Leaders are responsible for administrative and technical support, as well as facilitating information to direct reports. It is imperative that candidates have strong leadership skills, communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.

  • Successfully complete all activities included in the Sales District Leader Designate training program
  • Successfully interact with customers (store management) and effectively sell in/execute sales programs and initiatives
  • Lead meetings focused on a plan to achieve sales objectives and goals
  • Conduct one-with-one meetings and “work withs” with Sales Reps to discuss performance, selling and customer service skills
  • Work proactively with customers to understand business needs and develop strong relationships
  • Maintain process improvement to further enhance productivity of PepsiCo’s selling and delivery model
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure orders are submitted, delivered and merchandised according to plan
  • Activate local and national marketplace initiatives and promotions to build brand development and maximize brand performance
  • Set productivity and service targets and ensure proper resource allocation between accounts
  • Coach Sales Reps to successfully sell against baseline and promotional opportunities
  • Collect and interpret statistical data utilizing PepsiCo specific applications
  • Partner with product supply team to create accurate forecasts based on promotions and historical performance to ensure product availability
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to customers as required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/ or weekends
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years managing frontline employees
  • A minimum of 3 years sales experience

  • Consumer packaged goods experience in a direct store delivery environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/ or weekends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
