Job Description

Technical Accounting and Policy:

  • Oversee the global pension accounting ensuring deep understanding of strategies, assumptions and corresponding accounting. Responsible for timely filing of all pension forms and financial statements, including Form 11-Ks and preparation of disclosures in Form 10-K
  • Oversee derivative center of excellence. This role has decision making accountability, including compliance with the new derivative standard, sign-off on derivative programs, approval of externally reported disclosures and sign-off on associated internal controls. Accordingly, an in depth knowledge of accounting standards related to accounting for derivative instruments, hedging accounting and financial instruments, is critical
  • Oversee debt issuances and corresponding disclosures, SEC filings and comfort letters
  • Oversee the adoption of the lease standard, including the corresponding policies and system implementations. An in-depth knowledge of the new lease standard is required
  • Review and approve material one-off transactions and significant accounting impacting the consolidated results and support global projects in these areas
  • Lead role in responding to Senior Management, KPMG and External Reporting questions/requests
  • Ensure timely adherence to SOx requirements and efficient SOx reporting

Organization and People Development:

  • Responsible for 1 LG1 professional and 1 L11 professional, who collectively manage 5 people
  • Coach, develop, and mentor associates
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Divisions and other finance groups (HFM, Tax, Treasury, Compensation and Benefits, Global Procurement, FP&A, External Auditors, etc.) to ensure effective communication and processes
  • Demonstrate external perspective, including contacts with peer companies, Big 4 firms, FEI, etc.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA

Work experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive work experience
  • Expertise in GAAP, Accounting Standards and SEC Reporting, especially the derivative, pension and lease standards
  • IT literate (financial systems)

  • Integrity
