Job Description

  • Manage the Potato Variety Development Program providing the PepsiCo North America Procurement Team and Suppliers with leadership in variety best practices solutions development for sustainable commercial production, including harvesting and storage
  • Provide leadership in the planning, development and conducting of internal research projects for variety development, sustainable crop production and storage
  • Development of potato variety specific best practices solutions for sustainable commercial production, including harvesting and storage
  • Planning and Execution of internal research projects for variety best practices development, sustainable crop production and storage


  • Five to ten years’ experience with Agricultural Research and Development, Field Extension, Field Operations, Supply Chain and Sustainable Agricultural Practices (Water and GHG)
  • In lieu of the work experience, can consider a graduate of any of these courses: B.S or Master’s Degree in Agronomy & Plant Science / Production Agriculture / Ag. Business / Horticulture or other related fields
  • Potato experience is recommended
  • Thorough knowledge of sustainable crop production with demonstrated success in the application and commercialization of research and new technology
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of electronic data acquisition and analysis, instrumentation, and control systems used in production agriculture
  • Proficient with computer software applications for word processing, spreadsheet analysis, database development and statistical/data analysis
  • Facilitation and Project Management experience
  • Effective presentation skills, solid oral and written communications and remote working capability
  • Self-starter with strong drive for results and cross functional team leadership skills
  • Preferred location Rhinelander WI, with Plano, TX as a second option
