Flavour Research Technologist

Innovation takes center stage at PepsiCo and our R&D team is forever busy creating new and exciting products for our consumers around the world. Our Global Flavour team work alongside the Product Development and Lab teams to ensure that the best flavours and ingredients go into making our great tasting snacks.
Supporting the Senior Research Scientist and Application specialists, you will be responsible for creating conceptual prototypes and gathering insights to drive our snacks innovation agenda. In addition you will support project management activities of key strategic projects.
You'll support sample preparation and seasoning activities in the lab, in addition to managing the flow of samples through analytical and sensory /consumer testing, all the way up to pilot scale, so good working knowledge of flavour applications or product development methods is a must. You'll manage the supply of ingredients and chemicals for the Flavour Team and work with vendors and suppliers for non-routine items so will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills. Your familiarity to flavour ingredient and/or raw materials will support both research and application projects. You'll need to have a practical approach to your work as you'll also be responsible for organising shipment of ingredients and chemicals and maintaining an up to date inventory, making sure the team know the status and location at any given time.

The Small Print
We're looking to offer £27,000 in terms of base salary and also have a great flexible benefits package on offer. The working hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday and the standard holiday allowance is 25 days (plus bank holidays.)

Preferred Food Sciences BSc(HONS)
Will consider Applied Chemistry Natural Sciences with appropriate experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in flavours and flavour ingredients and/or application to foods preferably non-sweet.
Savory Seasonings experience advantageous
Culinary interest and awareness
