Job Description

The UX Designer will transform complex,user needs into intuitive, engaging, easy to use designs that meet and/or exceed user expectations and drive business results. This designer will actively participate and articulate a strong user centered point of view in all phases of the product life cycle, including product ideation, user persona definition, feature/user story elicitation, cross-discipline UX design sessions, usability testing, and data analysis with implementation plans that support an agile delivery environment. The UX Designer is responsible for creating innovative mobile and web digital solutions that serve multiple internal and external personas and should excel at collaborating with End Users, other Designers, UX Strategists, Agile Scrum Teams, Consultants, Vendors, Business and IT stakeholders. Engagement in the design process - from creating user flows, empathy/journey maps, and wire frames to building final user interface mock ups and interactive prototypes - all while balancing the needs of the business and capabilities of technology are key. He/she should create appropriate navigation flow diagrams and information architecture to elevate the solution. At each stage, the UX Designer will anticipate user needs based on user feedback, share learnings via storyboarding and other design methods, advocate for our users, and ensure that the final product is useful, usable, and delights them. Possessing a future forward perspective that remains current on new technologies, frameworks, and trends, advises the enterprise, and pursues the latest opportunities that will improve the UX is vital.

In addition, he/she will:

  • Work with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure proper implementation of product vision, always focusing on simplicity and ease of use
    Create interactive and visual representations of user research after proper analysis so that he/she not only empathizes with the user, but everyone who impacts that solution can as well
    Help develop scalable cutting edge and flexible design guidelines to maintain clean and consistent user interfaces across products as we grow
    Create artifacts including components, templates, and workflow patterns that can be consumed by other Designers and Developers
    Serves as a coach to educate on Design Thinking, User Experience methodologies, and our Users
    Advocate and inspire Design Thinking by through marketing campaigns to help lead the Organization in this important change

Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.A. Design, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, or a related field (Masters preferred)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a UX Designer with excellent Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite skills in UI, Interaction and Motion Design with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of Design Thinking, Agile, web and digital design, Style Guides, and leading Usability Testing. Illustration/Animation skills with applications like Principle or Flinto.com and Big Data Analytics interfaces are a plus
  • Ability to engage internal/external users to organize and coordinate across multiple teams
  • Effective Communication: Writing, Oral, Design, and Presentation
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical skills, highly organized and process oriented
  • Strong desire to work across a matrix organization, partnering with business, Design Center, external partners with a solid understanding of technical requirements and limitations
  • Can engage users to identify pain points, document journey maps, and develop experience maps to create designs that demonstrate a clear understanding of the relation of visual design to the interaction
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, HTML, CSS, Adobe, Invision, ProofHQ, and other Design tools. Angular Js and React Js are a plus
  • A portfolio will be required as part of the hiring process
