Position can be based in Hawthorne, NY or Barrington, IL


The Packaging Associate Scientist is responsible for technical specifications for packaging components and finished goods packaging specifications ensuring completeness, alignment with standards, and accessibility. Also, training of team members, suppliers and bottlers as needed. General maintenance of specifications database.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Specification systems “super user” for the Bev Packaging team, providing hands-on training to team members
  • Provide necessary leadership to investigate and resolve queries
  • Conduct first level specification reviews for both completeness and compliance with department documentation standards
  • Coordinate supplier level approvals and electronic workflow routings
  • Primary IT and documentation group contact for ongoing improvements and maintenance (system upgrades, etc.)
  • Interface with functional areas (Quality, Global Procurement, SC, OPs), and bottlers/suppliers
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners including suppliers, bottlers, Global Procurement, and R&D Quality

Qualifications/Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Packaging, Engineering or a related field
  • Previous internship in a CPG company a plus



Other Job Requirements:

  • Some travel will be required in North America. Estimated at <10%
