Job Description

Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation & Engineering is seeking a Material Handling Senior Engineer to define strategy for plant automation and system integration.​

  • Define controls and IT scope of processing, packaging, and/or material handling systems to meet functional and business requirements
  • Lead cross-functional reviews of electrical design, controls configuration, and functional specification documentation, provided by external vendors
  • Assess new IT/OT technology and develop integration strategies to pilot and commercialize
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Prepare bid packages for system integrators and equipment manufacturers
  • Provide direction to diverse groups such as IT, external vendors, and plant resources
  • Develop reporting and visualization tools to improve operations performance
  • Define system validation requirements, develop validation documentation, generate and execute test protocols
  • Provide on-site start-up engineering support during line commissioning


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years experience
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience with a focus on automation and control systems
  • Ability to reduce complex problems to a simple set of solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively
  • Superior team building skills to work with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of industrial networks, controls software, and MES
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to travel 25%
