Job Description

The Associate Manager of Global Operations Digital Value Chain Innovation is responsible for scouting the next generation of digital capabilities for PepsiCo Global Supply Chain Operations. This role researches new capabilities, engages with external solution providers and peer companies and partners with Information Technology (IT) and the Sector Supply Chain Operations teams to deliver proof of concepts that demonstrate digital capabilities and quantify business value.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Research new capabilities by meeting with external analysts, technology providers and peer companies to identify relevant case studies, proven benefits and learnings
  • Partner with business leaders on ideation to develop a robust innovation pipeline, focused on emerging digital technologies
  • Partner closely with IT, Sector teams and external partners to refine use cases, determine scope, define success criteria and successfully deliver proof of concepts for new digital capabilities
  • Scout up to 20-30 digital capabilities per year and execute up to 10-15 proof of concepts annually across multiple Sectors and Supply Chain functional areas
  • Work with Global Operations and Sector Supply Chain leadership to prioritize the pursuit of new requests based on alignment with the Sector Strategic Plans (PSPs) and AOPs
  • Collaborate with Sector Supply Chain teams to understand current business challenges and identify how proven or emerging digital capabilities can translate into business benefits
  • Partner across Sector Supply Chain teams to ensure that essential business requirements are understood, captured, and reflected in solution documentation
  • Measure and communicate business value and POC results to Sector Supply Chain Operations teams
  • Complete handoff of successful POCs to appropriate Global Operations or sector teams and support initiative pilot and deployment
  • Partner with IT and Procurement to support vendor evaluations (RFI/RFP) to determine which solution providers to partner with on proof of concept and pilot projects
  • Partner with Supply Chain College team to build out digital training content in an effort to increase digital awareness, understanding and competency across the Supply Chain organization

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working on business transformation projects, supporting technology and business process change
  • 5+ years project leadership or management experience with a proven track record of planning and managing numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously
  • Proven track record of implementing technology solutions that deliver business benefits in one or more Supply Chain Operations functions
  • Experience in roles across the Manufacturing, Logistics and Supply Chain Planning functional areas preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPG industry, experience working across various geographies globally that are at varying levels of technology and analytics maturity preferred

Skills and Capabilities
  • Adept at using technology to solve business problems
  • Mix of robust supply chain business process understanding, supply chain applications knowledge and understanding of emerging digital capabilities and how to apply them in a business environment
  • Understanding of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities such as machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA) and natural language processing with a focus on how to apply them across Supply Chain functions
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrix organization and indirectly influence peers and partners across the organization through vision, connection and collaboration
  • Excellent oral and written skills to effectively communicate ideas, processes, status and provide clear documentation to the management and executive leadership
  • Ability to be flexible within a fast-moving work environment and juggle multiple priorities at the same time
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve ambiguous problems
  • Ability to enter new territory, push the envelope in terms of demonstrating digital capabilities and making them work for PepsiCo
Education/Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or related field preferred)
