Job Description

  • Work with Sector and Global Logistics Procurement teams and functional stakeholders to develop a 3-5 year purchasing strategy, relevant for Germany for the Logistics category, ensuring a solid long term productivity pipeline (5-10% from the spend) through category expertise development and market insight. Ensure full adoption in BU of any Sector/Global led Logistics purchasing strategies
  • Accountable for delivering AOP targets for Logistics across warehousing and transportation initiatives. Lead regional transportation sourcing events, using appropriate tendering tools. Increase procurement coverage to 90%+ through credibility and trust with internal stakeholders, PepsiCo procurement community and suppliers. Work alongside Warehouse COE to ensure delivery of Warehouse projects, owning total Move productivity for BU
  • Ongoing strategic supplier relationship management, performance evaluation and re-negotiation of key logistics suppliers (including set-up preferred supplier rosters, monitor and track supplier performance, external benchmarking, corrective action and escalation processes)
  • In close collaboration with the European Category Manager International Freight, leverage inbound & primary freight spend across BU logistic operations to drive significant, sustainable improvements in cost, quality & service to support the Operations productivity agenda
  • Ensure all logistics solutions fully meet all PepsiCo food quality requirements
  • Capture the value delivered from Logistics Procurement initiatives and fully align with stakeholders and finance

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Logistics background essential. Food and Beverages logistics experience preferred
  • A strong background in Purchasing within FMCG environment (6 years+)
  • Ability to lead and apply strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and total cost of ownership
  • Strong communication, influencing & aligning skills - Knowledge of German business and key Logistics stakeholders an advantage, to establish collaborative cross-functional and valued working relationships
  • Role requires a combination of strategic thinking & executional excellence
  • Results oriented – comfortable identifying, setting & delivering against stretch targets
  • Ability to manage a high level of diverse projects simultaneously
  • Excellent business acumen, knowledge of financial fundamentals and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders and build trust at all levels of the organization
  • Able to manage ambiguity and working within a complex, fluid, organizational environment with limited data visibility and diverse processes and stakeholders
  • Must be able to develop, manage and lead own agenda
  • Languages: German + fluency in written and spoken English
  • University Graduate, preferably engineering or economics
