  • Review all Quality holds and work with departments Leads to disposition holds. Follow-up on “Critical” holds (Finished Goods, Pkg Material or Ingredients) to assure all affected products have been accounted and isolated
  • Attend Dept. and Site meetings, Communicate with Leads and Production Advisors as necessary to discuss any pending quality issues (test, equipment, swabs, air samples and calibration issues)
  • Tour the site to monitor for sanitation issues, such as GMP adherence.
  • Check Pasteurizer and CIP charts to assure Leads are looking at them and signing off as required
  • Review all performed Sanitation/CIP documents to assure all SSOP’s have been followed and fully documented.
  • Ensure swabbing is being completed by lab tech’s and report out missing
  • Ensure weekly metal detection verification checks are being completed by operators and follow up with packaging leadership on metal detector issues
  • Review Packaging quality paperwork for completion, accuracy and perform release of product
  • Perform QSR audits and support packaging departments in closing out open audit findings
  • Review/Updating quality procedures
  • Provide technical assistance and/or training in the areas of quality to site personnel.
  • Understands business needs and the impact of his/her activities. Can identify and understand the potential impact of alternate approaches.
  • Provide expertise and guidance within the organization to promote a quality philosophy
  • Determine steps needed to get all departments to comply with quality standard
  • Assist in training site personnel
  • Participate in HACCP team and updating of Food Safety Plan
  • Complete PCQI III/II training, Micro Training/ certification, HACCP training or other trainings needed for position
  • Review and assist in implementing countermeasures for CAPA related items
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 5 years previous quality experience in a food/beverage manufacturing facility OR an Bachelor Degree in Chemistry/Food Science/Microbiology
  • Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Computer literacy with Windows, Microsoft office application and other lab software
  • Ability to travel to training
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak in one-on-one and group settings to communicate complex topics, information and specifications related to food manufacturing, food quality and food regulations
  • Position will require a flexible schedule: working nights, weekends and possible different shifts. Ability to work flexible work week i.e. Sun-Thurs
