Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Intern contributes to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Canada by executing staffing initiatives to build a talent pipeline that will drive business performance across all departments. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator (TAC), this role facilitates full-cycle recruitment for PepsiCo Beverages across the Western Canada Region. This role can be based out of Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, OR Edmonton for a 4 to 8 month contract. Starting in May 2019, the successful candidate will join in the middle of PepsiCo’s largest summer recruitment period and work with the TAC to fill hundreds of seasonal roles by August. The student will also play a crucial role in the planning of campus recruitment for PepsiCo’s New Graduate program by building relationships with educational institutions across Western Canada to facilitate information sessions, career fairs, and more.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to effectively communicate role responsibilities, candidate profiles, and recruitment processes
  • Maintain proper documentation, filing, and tracking of candidates and open roles across Western Canada
  • Facilitate hiring processes involved in full-cycle recruitment including offer letters, background checks, first day onboarding, etc.
  • Implement the delivery of a client focused, cost effective and timely recruitment service for all hourly and salaried positions within Western Canada
  • Pre-screen resumes, conduct telephone interviews and provide candidate short lists with resumes to Hiring Managers
  • Assist in the planning and execution of student hiring initiatives including New Grad and Co-op recruitment

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be registered in and have completed second year of studies towards a relevant post-secondary degree
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills through phone, email, and in-person
  • Work well with a high functioning virtual team located across Western Canada to drive recruitment initiatives
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance all responsibilities involved in full-cycle recruitment
  • Experience searching recruitment databases, screening and interviewing potential candidates a strong asset
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive matters
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
