Job Description

Reporting to the NRM Transformation director, this role’s main deliverable will be delivering monthly reporting and a presenting a monthly review to the ESSA NRM leadership team to proactively and accurately surmise on ESSA’s NRM performance and key issues the sector is facing.

Given reporting will be on a monthly cadence, with peaks and troughs, this analyst’s major secondary deliverable will be to support rolling out ESSA’s trade promotions best practice agenda across all operating BUs to improve trade spend regulation, control and effectiveness. This will be conducted with support and supervision from ESSA NRM Capability Manager.

The role will require heavy interaction with peer analysts and Revenue Mangers in the business units to identify business performance drivers, along with ESSA finance & IT teams to set up the required reporting processes.

The role, based in the ESSA NRM Centre of Excellence will focus on:
1. Proactive monthly NRM diagnostics: Deliver monthly reporting of NRM KPIs and enriched commentary to ESSA NRM leadership
Lead set-up and design of monthly internal KPI tracking and diagnose key business headwinds and tailwinds (NR, NRR, GP, Promo Spend, D&A)
Present monthly findings to NRM leadership group
Liaise with insights to enrich with external diagnostics insights (category, customer, competition)
Liaise with local markets to validate findings and understand local plans
2. Support Diagnostics Automation Agenda: Partner with NRM 2.0 agenda to identify automation opportunities with well grooved diagnosis processes
Identify opportunities to automate grooved monthly diagnostics process utilising automation toolsets such as Tableau

3. Trade Promotions Program Rollout Support: Drive adoption of trade promotions best practise across ESSA
Key project to support the roll out of PepsiCo ESSA’s trade promotion management program to all local markets. Key responsibilities will involve:
o Design and execution of monthly promotional diagnostics scorecard by market x category
o Support template creation for best in class trade promotional process – pricing councils, promo guidelines etc, with input from NRM Transformation Director and NRM Capability Manager.
o Liaise with markets to provide training and support to drive best practise adoption: will require running of workshops and webinars to bring visibility and get alignment/ accountability for execution of best practise
o Measure market adoption compliance of defined best practises
o Bring in market feedback to adjust and improve best practise
Link status review of program adoption with promo KPI performance – identify markets for acceleration and focused support

Qualifications/Requirements

Experience Required
Strong academic background
3+ years data analytics experience with high-performance track record
o Top-tier consultancy, ‘Big 4’ consultancy arm, retail data analytic firms (Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, Dunhummby)
High level of analytical skills (especially strong Excel modelling) and strong attention to detail (within modelling)
Ability to extract key messages from complex data and crafting clear communications – including PowerPoint
Good collaborator and influencer – experience working cross-functionally and/ or in virtual teams
Well-organised, self-sufficient and proactive - able to prioritise many competing priorities
Commercial instinct to understand key business drivers
Strong strategic and problem-solving skills
Can-do, flexible attitude with resilience– able to respond to rapidly changing and often urgent priorities

Experience Desirable
CPG experience
Quantitative degree (Maths/ Science)
Working with senior management

Travel/ Location
Applicant should be required to travel on ad-hoc basis to various markets based on project needs – however preferred method of communication will be virtual.
