Job Description

The Data Science Analyst is part of the forward-thinking Workforce Planning & Advanced Analytics Center-of-Excellence at PepsiCo's World Headquarters in Purchase, NY. Our team collaborates with business, HR and data science colleagues at all levels of the organization, from our executives to people in our worldwide network of professional, sales, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. You will be responsible for working closely with study leads to design and deploy ground-breaking research of complex HR and business challenges throughout the company.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Using your analytical skills to design experiments that uncover insights about the behavior of our workforce
  • Inventing models, tools and algorithms to pragmatically address talent and business problems
  • Helping partners understand the key insights of your work and developing action plans to address them through effective communication
  • Crafting advanced descriptive and inferential analyses of social media, applicant flow, promotion/retention, and workforce development
  • Building and using large-scale datasets for statistical analysis using software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python, SQL, Teradata, Azure, Hadoop, Access, Excel)

Qualifications/Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in an applied social science or quantitative discipline, such as I/O Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Marketing Research, Sociology, Anthropology, Demography, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Biology, or Chemistry
  • Experience in building data bases or algorithms for business use, through approaches like linear and logistic regression
  • Basic knowledge of AI and machine/deep learning towards topics like prediction modeling, text analytics, sentiment analysis, and/or path analysis
  • Proficiency in at least one coding or statistical software package (e.g., Java, Python, C++, R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with one of Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, as well as, Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • No prior HR or HR-system experience required
