Category Leadership
The Demand Xcelerator (DX) team represents a transformation of Shopper Insights, Shopper Marketing, Category Leadership and Space resources supporting Sales and Marketing plans across the PepsiCo portfolio. This approach allows us to build best-in-class capabilities, develop deep functional expertise, and offer focused programs to drive growth with our customers.
As a Category Analyst supporting BJ’s, Market Basket, Acme and Hannaford you will deliver strategic insights in support of the PepsiCo Quaker while partnering with strategic customers. Specifically, this role will work to identify market trends, competitive threats, brand strategies and customer strategies in order to increase sales and market share. Responsibilities also include:

  • Leading the development of a series of actionable Category Stories that fuel our key Category Growth objectives and Strategic Customer Initiatives for the Quaker Pancake Syrup & Mix and Side Dish categories.
  • Building knowledge base and advantaged expertise in category insights and consumer/shopper macro trends for the Quaker Pancake Syrup & Mix and Side Dish categories
  • Leveraging strong analytics and strategic thought leadership to drive best-in-class assortment and shelving recommendations that drive our national Quaker Pancake Syrup & Mix and Side Dish win-at-the-shelf efforts.
  • Driving and shaping the strategic category insights and recommendations for annual AOP (i.e. Power Up) growth initiatives for Quaker Pancake Syrup & Mix and Side Dish businesses.
  • Leading in optimal wiring and ways of working across the Category Management organization, and build strong cross-functional with the marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance teams that lead/support Quaker
  • Identifying and communicating relevant Customer and Market insights which assist in developing revenue opportunities and reducing business risk at retail.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; MBA a plus
  • 3 + years of Category Management / Insights within the consumer packages goods industry
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and thought leadership skills
  • Strong PC skill set (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with standard data resources and solutions (Syndicated POS, Panel, Retail Link, Vision Chain/Shiloh/RSI)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to interact confidently and effectively with team members, management and the customer
  • Collaboration is essential in this role as the person will work very closely with account sales leads, cross-functional teams as well as the retailer directly
  • Strong planning/organizing skills; the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Must be willing and able to travel 20-25% of the time
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Location: Flexible within North Region
