Job Description

Coaching of the shift teams (FLMs, Team Leaders and FLEs) in order to drive increased effectiveness of the QCDM process (primarily hrly and 4 hrly), driving improved problem solving in the zone.
Coaching of 5 Why’s and A3s to drive pace and quality of problem solving across shift teams and building capability.
Following DMAIC methodology to lead Six Sigma Green Belt projects on shift delivering sustainable change with targeted productivity savings.
Tracking all savings associated with shift based problem solving delivering a minimum of £50m/yr personally and additional through the teams

Support the transition of our manufacturing site to a fully embedded LEAN culture, supporting improvements across a balanced score card and enabling the delivery of the site vison.
Certified Basic Coach, coaching the shift leadership team and FLE's during QCDM meetings and practical problem solving sessions to drive behavioural change.
Coaching the shift leadership team in standard work to ensure they deliver their purpose and they incorporate problem solving as part of their daily role.
Use multiple data/information sources to decipher complex problems and deliver solutions following the DMIAC and A3 framework.
Work with site leadership team to support and deliver productivity agenda, ensuring minimum of £80m delivered per year
Teach and coach shift based Kaizen leaders, problem solving groups and A3's.
Work with shift leadership teams to ensure that they operate with the correct behaviours providing support where necessary.
Using trend analysis drive behavioural change in the frontline teams by highlighting areas of opportunity, to reinforce the roles and responsibilities at the correct level within QCDM framework
Responsible for safety on shift - Safe Delivery

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential: Experienced coach – Ideally would possess a qualification in Coaching
Essential: Is skilled in giving feedback & active listening
Essential: An ability to identify & distill body language to support strengths and opportunity areas
Ideal: certified in Kaizen Leader/Yellow Belt with proven results from applying DMAIC methodology
Ideal: Demonstrated strength in analytics, project management, team leadership, conflict management, and process / system thinking
Essential: Experience of working towards KPI/business metrics and aligning work to the site metrics
Ideal: Is familiar with / has a good understanding of QCDM process and has experience of working in a LEAN environment
Ideal: Strong facilitator with experience of facilitating to multi functional teams & a range of stakeholders
Essential: Resilient - Not afraid to confront tough issues, hold people to account and take on significant challenges
Essential: Natural leadership skills, ability to coach, collaborate and influence, leveraging the skills and qualities of those around to implement the right short/medium and long term actions.
Ideal: Manufacturing experience of working with and delivering through front line teams.
Ideal: Managerial experience - able to make / take decisions autonomously without reference to line manager
Essential: Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tough deadlines and deliver results
Essential: Freely shares knowledge with others to build broader capability and best practice across site.
Essential: Demonstrates openness and finds ways to build common ground when working with people from diverse backgrounds,
cultures, and work styles.
