Around the world, there is growing concern over the threat that plastic packaging waste poses to our communities and marine environments. We recognize that the scale and reach of our business can enable PepsiCo to make a positive impact in addressing this issue. Over the last several months we have established and/or invested in many partnerships to support a circular economy for plastics. The primary responsibility for this role is to manage and further develop these global external partnerships, and to ensure PepsiCo’s objectives and return on investment are met.


  • Facilitate development of and support major global external sustainable plastics (and/or plastic waste) partnerships
  • Maintain comprehensive oversight of all sustainable plastic packaging partnerships; manage tracking and progress against partners; ensure objectives, ROI achieved
  • Develop an integrated partnership strategy that supports, at a global and local level, PepsiCo’s sustainable plastic packaging agenda
  • Lead due diligence of prospective partners; recommend potential new partnerships to Plastics Committee
  • Provide support to partners via committee involvements and contributions (e.g. AEPW Working Groups)
  • Communicate regularly with partner organizations to proactively identify any roadblocks or opportunities where PepsiCo can engage to add significant value
  • Lead internal communications in support of external partners and to drive internal efficiencies and coordination; provide regular updates to Plastics Committee, senior management, other stakeholders
  • Support PepsiCo Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and other internal/external presentations and communications as necessary


  • Candidate must have a relevant bachelors degree; Masters or PhD highly preferred
  • 10+ years overall experience; relationship management experience is a critical requirement
  • Knowledge on international organizations involved in plastics crisis/ sustainability, NGOs, trade groups, etc. highly preferred
  • Ability to derive and assess value
  • Ability to coordinate and workplan with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively leverage the time and networks of external partner leadership
  • Knowledge and interest in sustainability
  • Strong ability to influence and work through others
  • Executive presence is a critical requirement; strong verbal and written communications
  • Drives an open dialogue among external partners, team members, and business leaders
  • Embodies the mission, vision, and standards of the PepsiCo; will represent the PepsiCo well in all interactions with external parties
