Job Description

The HR Representative for Atlantic provides HR Generalist support by being business partner with the Supply Chain teams, Kentville Site & Bedford Distribution Center. You will successfully lead core HR processes and will directly report into the HR Manager-Eastern Canada. The role will be based in Kentville, NS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR Generalist support for salaried and frontline employees
  • Provide site HR leadership by providing opinions and advice, influencing decision making
  • Act as point person on all policy related issues and interpretation requests including attendance, pay and salary, benefits, job postings, recruitment, etc. to ensure consistency across the site
  • Support site LT on driving Org Health Action Planning and Change initiatives
  • Ensure activities are in compliance with all provincial and federal laws and regulations
  • Provide coaching to managers on employee relations issues and during discipline process
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to source and staff a diverse and highly skilled workforce
  • Proactively manage and communicate attendance management program
  • Lead Compensation Business Review process
  • Serve as advisor to manager around career development and performances issues
  • Lead implementation and roll-out of new and existing programs (including job evaluation, annual merit process, bonus, and employee org. health survey, wage reviews, New Grad program, etc.)
  • Work closely with Area Safety Manager and disability case management consultants to effectively manage such cases (WCB, STD, LTD).

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

  • University degree with HR specialization (Human Resources, Labor Relations preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in an HR Generalist role
  • Understanding and experience with most or all of the core aspects of the HR Management (Staffing, Employee Relations, Performance management, Leadership development, Change Leadership)
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Understanding and experience with most or all of the core aspects of the HR Management (Staffing, Employee Relations, Performance management, Leadership development, Change Leadership)
  • Confident communicator (verbal and written)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence the decision making with leaders and business partners
  • Experience supporting a frontline organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
