Job Description

Main Purpose:

  • Make & sustain the Annual operating plans for the site for R&M, Operating supplies & Power & fuel spends
  • Upkeep the health of Plant Building & Equipment thus ensuring un-interrupted Equipment Availability to other functions.
  • Timely evaluate RECON initiatives & continuously improve the sustainability parameters for site
  • Ensure all the Utility Operations & activities are evaluated for Risk associated with them from Environment & Health & Safety perspective.
  • Reduce Risks ratings through Investments, SOPs or PPEs in all the Utility Operations area.
  • Drive capital projects greater than $10M
  • Develop Vendor base to optimize the spares costs.

  • Roll out Annual AOP & keep a closed watch on spends
  • Ensure the compliance of financial reporting and controls
  • Minimize Annual Maintenance Contracts while moving to in-house maintenance by developing People.
  • Develop plans to optimize spends through proper spend analysis on monthly & yearly basis.
  • Develop & Maintain Operational SOPs & Trouble shooting manuals for WWTP, WTP & other plant equipment base
  • Draft & implement roadmap in line to PGCS Support center guidelines
  • Comply to PGCS Maintenance Strategy
  • Incorporate Best practices in Reliability
  • Work with Corporate engineering in the development and implementation of corporate standards, programs including developing the technical capability within the local facility.
  • Ensure there is a complete reliability program in place to ensure the availability of equipment, spares.
  • Ensure Maintenance & Operations practices & Facility is always world class to face any day AIBI audit & other regulatory & PGCS driven audits.
  • Demonstrate Fix it Forever approach in maintenance practices.
  • Ensure availability of all the site equipment thus not impacting the Supply Chain
  • Ensure the upkeep of Plant & Machinery through laid down Preventive, Predictive & time based monitoring.
  • Track Equipment Availability on monthly basis & ensure proper health of same through Preventive, Predictive & Shutdown procedures.
  • Have solid tracking plan in place to ensure spent on each machine, period wise through proper history card.
  • Own & ensure the health of Annual Maintenance contracts
  • Develop spare part inventory in line to ABC analysis of equipment thus ensuring un-interrupted
  • Operations
  • Reporting in line to the defined PGCS guidelines
  • Timely evaluate the installed capacity crunch in line to future growth & develop rolling annual Utility Master Plan to de-bottleneck capacity.
  • Compliance to plant Quality management systems in the plant like ISO and HACCP
  • Plant readiness for Quality Audits like AIBI & BQA
  • Ensure CAPA closures as per the timelines
  • Demonstrate Compliance to Code of Conduct & PepsiCo Values
  • Carry out improvement projects to improve functional efficiencies.

Environment Health & Safety Measures Related to Role:
  • Attain sufficient knowledge on PGCS’s Safety, Engineering, MESS & other standards for upkeep of plant in line to laid down procedures & Engineering SOPs..
  • Sustain OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 systems requirement related to utilities and maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance to all global, PGCS, regulatory as well as plant specific policies.
  • Maintain effective liaison with relevant Government offices and act as point of contact to fulfill all the requisites related to Utility Operations & Maintenance.
  • Ensure integrity of Fire Fighting system all the time by regular monitoring and checks of the hardware
  • Ensure all new operations, processes, and procedures comply with local regularity & PepsiCo Legal & Engineering standards.
  • Operate WWTP ensuring all discharges from site – Solid; Landfill, E waste, Hazardous etc. must comply to laid down EHS guidelines (both Legal & PGCS).
  • Comply with all the required reporting & documentation protocols in line to EHS, EMS, and Resource Conservation requirements rolled out by PGCS & site.
  • Lead & represent site on various RECON initiatives
  • Lead site’s RECON champion & drive productivity through Capital Plans/ Procedures etc to conserve natural resources through continuous improvement.
  • Continuously improve Sustainability measures by evaluation & implementation of new & best technologies available
Self & Team:
  • Develop Bench Strength & backups for all key positions within area of influence
  • Ensure team is regularly developed through Trainings in line to up gradation of technology
  • Demonstrate knowledge on Automation in Process industry & Vendor base


  • Graduation/ post graduation in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering with 5-6 years of experience
  • Experience in Maintenance & Projects, independently handling the engineering function of a medium scale company for 3-5 years
  • Understanding of Food / Pharma manufacturing setup
  • Ability to create and manage budgets
  • Hands on experience on ERPs like SAP, Mapics or Oracle.
  • Knowledge on QMSs like ; HACCP,AIB,ISO- 14001,18001,9001-2000
