Job Description

The National Selling Expense Sr Manager role is part of the Selling Expense/Transformational GTM Finance team in the Supply Chain Finance organization and manages National Selling Expense, representing nearly $2.9B in expense. This role oversees all Selling Expense and assists in target setting across HQ and Field. This position will lead the Simplification agenda within selling expense as well as influence and collaborate to build and launch Selling Expense within IPF for early 2020. This role partners with Regions to deliver Plan and influence business results to drive positive Selling Expense flow-thru. Key responsibilities for the position include leading Retail Sellex Strategic Plan, the Selling Expense Annual Plan and Selling Expense Period Forecasts and Performance and Productivity Reporting.

The Sr. Manager must also coordinate Selling Expense across 8Field Regions with a wide variety of support groups such as HR Compensation and Capability and Controller and Planning groups. This coordination occurs at all levels (from Group VP to Analyst).
Position has one direct report to manage reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process for building a Strategic Plan for Selling Expense
  • Collaborate with the IPF team to build and integrate Selling Expense for 2020 launch
  • Lead the SellEx Simplification Taskforce to simplify Field and HQ Forecast processes
  • Manage performance through fact based influence and strong field communication with periodic opportunity to present results to finance senior leadership.
  • Lead liaison with Starfleet Director to strategize, finalize, plan and communicate productivity pipeline.
  • Provide strategy and investment input for AOP
  • Partner and collaborate with the HQ selling expense team to develop SellEx AOP, including calendar management.
  • Provide Field Selling Expense targets in total and for key Starfleet and productivity accounts
  • Collect, summarize and check Field Selling Expense Plan submissions
  • Load Selling Expense into official plan systems
  • Coordinate and influence FP&A regarding plan seasonalization to hit quarterly requirements
  • Manage and develop Field and HQ Performance and Forecast roll-up tools
  • Drive Selling Expense Period Performance identifying key drivers of performance
  • Provide accurate and timely period performance reporting and ensure a timely and accurate close process
  • Identify opportunities and issues early and create action plans to address
  • Support the Field with appropriate performance reports to drive results
  • Improve information and processes to optimize performance
  • Good business common sense and understanding of the Frito-Lay DSD system
  • Able to coordinate goals and drive results with Selling Expense Managers across all Regions
  • Inspires trust. Is always consistent and timely with communication & follow-up.
  • Systems proficient: Business Objects, Excel, Essbase, PowerPoint and Word desirable

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Frito-Lay Finance experience, preferably including Field Finance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective Communicator both up (Senior Management) and down (Analysts)
  • Strong presentation skills to provide executive ready insights and discuss performance results
  • Robust analytical skills
  • Good business common sense and understanding of the Frito-Lay DSD system
  • Able to coordinate goals and drive results with Selling Expense Managers across all Regions
  • Inspires trust. Is always consistent and timely with communication & follow-up.
  • Systems proficient: Business Objects, Excel, Essbase, PowerPoint and Word desirable
