Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

This position contributes to the success of the Frito-Lay Irving Plant by:
• Managing shift managers to develop a team of mechanics and build their capability
• Owning people and team development, quality performance, cost, service and safety
• Developing individuals and team to solve operational/technical issues
• Motivating the team to achieve performance targets
• Effectively giving and receiving constructive feedback
• Organizing and facilitating team meetings to achieve continuous improvement process
• Coaching managers to use the process and facilitate problem solving on the floor

In addition, as a Maintenance Manager you will:
• Apply knowledge of facility infrastructure equipment, operations and reliability to set challenging individual and department goals
• Manage and track maintenance cost accounts
• Lead and develop a manager team
• Develop your team to solve day-to-day operational/technical issues to reach short & long term performance goals
• Communicate cross-functionally to support team in solving operational/technical issues
• Motivate managers to achieve plan goals
• Organize and facilitate work team meetings (for example: pre-shift, roundtables, etc.)
• Solve daily operational issues
• Administer policies and practices
• Initiate and implement projects
• Develop and conduct presentations and formal training programs
• Improve team communication and engagement
• Think quickly, creatively, and challenge your team to do the same

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (Engineering or a technical field preferred)
• 5+ years leadership experience in a maintenance organization
• Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, results-oriented, changing work environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly
• High drive for results and take initiative
• Basic understanding of MCC’s and PLC systems
• Experience working with pneumatic / power / and electrical transmission
• Experience with industrial facility infrastructure systems (boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, etc…)
• Strong project management skills, responsibilities will include repairs and capital project management
• Computer Skills. (CMMS, Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Demonstrated experience in implementing/executing preventive/predictive maintenance programs
• Must have excellent organizational skills to ensure ability to organize and scheduling maintenance activities
• Must have strong leadership skills to ensure ability to lead technical supply chain leaders that will be under direct supervision, as well as influence non-direct personnel in key maintenance related issues
• Must have the ability to manage & coach shift managers to develop a team of mechanics and build their team’s capabilities
• Experienced in a team-oriented culture
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
• Evidence of demonstrated skills in effective empowerment of employees
• Must be self-motivated and a self-starter, needing little direction
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, conflict management and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated team building skills
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people with varying levels of education, expertise and backgrounds
• Ability to flex work schedule as required to support 24/7 operation based on business demands
• Must have a basic understanding of financial reporting and budgeting, including, but not limited to cullage, yields, and True Efficiency as well as Run Strategy and all conversion and deployment KPI’s
