Our factory in Lincoln is famous for production of tasty snack brands such as Quavers and Snaps. It’s been part of the PepsiCo family for nearly 80 years and is the Lean reference site for Snacks production in Europe. The site went through a major upgrade in 2013 and is now home to our state of the art ‘packaging hall of the future’, making it the perfect setting for a passionate, experienced specialist to come in and help drive our long term sustainability.
Role Purpose
- Ownership of long-term performance sustainability for the Packaging hall - incorporating multipack and despatch areas
- Ownership of sustainable people capability in Packaging and multipack, through implementation of Standard work:
- Working with small teams to determine optimal Machine capability - ensuring performance is sustained, Product Quality and effective waste control through implementation of Standard settings
- Co-ordinate training and develop training for STD work
- Support Operations and Technical teams, be the ‘go to’ person for technical and performance issues
- Lead, coach and mentor teams through facilitation problem solving groups, providing KPI improvements across broad agenda’s
- Induction, Train, & Coach new SOM’s
- Own Packaging NPD trials
- Responsible for Continuous improvements, driven through the LEAN Management process , QCDM & the effective management of change


- Demonstrable use of Lean QCDM techniques to drive KPI improvements
- Experience of Starfleet process and IPS agenda
- High level technical knowledge of a broad range of packaging equipment
- Ability to apply technical knowledge in a consistent, methodical way when faced with problems
- Capable of planning complex trials, data collation and analysis
- Understands production systems, can document, track, and audit information
- Ability to set an agenda and build plans for packaging hall priorities through strong leadership
- Is a strong coach and facilitator with a passion for developing others
- Very effective interpersonal skills, with a co-operation style that builds strong relationships and respect for others
- Able to influence FLE/SOM/support teams behaviour
- Can identify training needs in FLE/SOM group
- Communicates with openness and candour and is capable of making tough calls and/or difficult conversations
- Seeks out/utilises best practises within PepsiCo. Embraces on-going innovation and change for achieving continuous growth and improvement
- Is a self starter with the capability and desire to lead a complex far reaching agenda
- Demonstrates the ability to positively influence at all levels in the organisation
- The ability to think strategically and develop action plans through the prioritisation of work streams (PDCA)
