Job Description

  • Lead and manage the personal development of direct reports and their reports
  • Embed asset reliability into the sites maintenance strategy and ensure plans are in place to deliver the long term improvement agenda, unplanned downtime is effectively reduced and repeat failures are eliminated through the reliability processes
  • Ownership and promotion of the training and application of reliability tools such as RCM, RCA, FMEA including provision of self-training. Develop the use of RCM, FMEA, Pit Stop, and Maintenance Task Optimisation
  • Develop and implement the Maintenance Site Strategy for a rolling 3 years and review annually. From this develop the Maintenance Action plan for the year and then ensure that all of these actions are cascaded down into the Maintenance Support team's objectives
  • Coach and influence the site’s understanding and execution of Maintenance KPI's
  • Ensure compliance to all GEHSMS element requirements with specific focus on contractor management and permit to work
  • Be the site expert on key Maintenance KPI's i.e. Downtime, Planned Compliance, Planned Work, Maintenance Utilisation, % CARV and Data Quality and (with Site Engineering Manager) ensure there are plans in place to deliver the required targets of all these measure
  • Own the Condition Monitoring and Lubrication agenda for the site
  • Be the site expert on PEMM Maintenance audits and (with the Site Engineering Manager) ensure there are plans in place to deliver the required target of this audit and lead the site on their route to World Class Maintenance
  • Coordinate with TQE engineering to keep abreast of business and beyond best practise and translate into delivery at site
  • Support the Site Engineering Manager in development of achievable and robust AOP


  • HND or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised time served Engineering qualification
  • RCA / Analytical problem solving skills
  • RCM / PFMEA / FMEA Formal qualification
