The Project Associate Analyst (PA) will be a member of Frito-Lay Supply Chain (SC) Commercialization team. This team is part of the HQ based Supply Chain Optimization & HQ SC Center of Excellence group.

FLUS SC Commercialization team leads the commercialization process of most growth drivers for Frito-Lay through project and master data management such as Product Innovation, Packaging, Push Volume, Pricing, and Productivity. The team partners with the Prime Mover (idea owner–often Marketing) and 12 cross functional teams on any idea that needs a change in behavior tied to a finished good by a manufacturing plant.

Projects are worked in an Oracle Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) module for Project Management. Additional reporting tools and manipulation of data via Excel supplement PLM. Each idea is managed in a Business Proposal (BP), resulting in a Manufacturing Notification and master data used for sell-in to customers. The team executes 1200 BPs per year valued <$2 billion.


The Project Associate reports into a Sr. Mgr Programming Leader, who has accountability for driving cross-functional product commercialization. The PA will be a member of the weekly cross functional Task Forces. The primary accountabilities relate to product master data decisions and packaging creation, while also understanding the critical details of the project and removing obstacles to meet the committed in-store date. The PA will have an assigned mix of higher complexity brands / customers / channels to support and will complete 100-150 BPs per year.

IDEA CONTEXT: Determine if the Business Proposal (BP) request is clear. Identify missing details required to define timelines or assess master data needs. Work with Prime Mover to close gaps; tag other related BPs impacting data or timeline coordination. 10%

MASTER DATA: Provide analytical expertise and decision making on product master data required to support each Business Proposal idea by action type and material scenario required. This includes identifying when to create new UPCs and internal product codes, managing price areas, tying to correct packaging / case pack / code date attribute data and maintaining data integrity through clean-up. Master Data accuracy is essential, as it feeds over 200 downstream systems, impacting Demand Planning, Operations, Sales and Financial transactions. 50%

PACKAGING SUPPORT: Own the Packaging Graphics Requisition process to capture all non-design attributes, including UPC management, brandmark routing, cross functional spec and regulatory input, and oversight of schedule hand-off to Packaging Pre-Press Vendor. 15%

EFFICIENCY: Ensure completion of assigned tasks on schedule. For competing priorities, identify options to ensure in-store is maintained. Support project managers with task force pre-work, to reduce overall non-productive time spent in meetings. Identify and provide solutions on how to make processes more productive. 15%

COLLABORATION & CULTURE: Assist with on-boarding new Prime Movers on how to write BPs with critical details that support governance in the codes and packaging space. Assume role for team improvement in Org Health key tactics. Identify a critical system, to which Master Data feeds, in which to gain additional expertise to support team as SME partner and maintain knowledge on any updates and resulting process changes. (10%)


  • BA or relevant Degree (Operations, Supply Chain, MIS) from a rigorous academic program with demonstrated high academic achievement
  • 1-2+ years of professional experience in an analytical, data intensive and/or project based role, preferably with experience in Supply Chain. Note: Directly related internships with demonstrated project outcomes tied to Supply Chain/Operations/MIS will also be entertained only if Systems requirements are fully met.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (preferably includes Macros)
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP or similar types of systems
  • Track-record of effectively managing time-sensitive projects and competing priorities with minimum guidance
  • Must be detail and results oriented with strong execution skills
  • Possess adaptive style to navigate in an agile environment with frequent change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact across levels
  • Shows a strong ability to influence and collaborate in a cross functional team environment
