North America Shared Services (NASS) is a multi-location center of excellence delivering financial services and capabilities for North America in partnership with our managed services providers. Services are provided to all PepsiCo divisions in the US and Canada.

This position is within the Accounting Services Group of PepsiCo NASS and is located in Plano, TX. It supports the Information Technology (IT) and North America Shared Services (NASS) Divisions. This project accounting portfolio consists of baseline and investment projects with a heavy emphasis on capital expenses for software development. IT functions supported include Global Operations, North America Beverage (NAB), North America Nutrition (NAN), and Corporate through accounting, analysis, and reporting of each period’s close activities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting guidance to Project and Finance Managers. Review capital/expense (CapEx’s) spend through project life cycle and contracts to make accounting recommendations as appropriate.
  • Review and prepare/process period journal entries in accordance with period calendar deadlines. Ensure all support complies with GAAP and PepsiCo policies.
  • Query and perform financial statement analysis in accordance with period calendar deadlines.
  • Review CIP and work with Project Managers and Fixed Asset Accountant to determine when assets should be placed in service.
  • Perform CapEx tie-out at least quarterly to ensure project spend is within approved limits.
  • Prepare timely and accurate period financial reporting packages.
  • Validate, approve and release projects for spend during Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and out of Plan process.
  • Perform project-related SOX controls for CIP Impairment, Capital Spend, and Prepaid Expenses.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA, CPA Candidate, or MBA
  • 2+ years of Big 4 Audit Experience or 4+ years of relevant accounting/financial experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; especially MS Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt and consistently apply on the job skills/knowledge obtained to a dynamic business environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP FICO and Project Systems
  • SOP 98-1 Knowledge: Capitalization/ Amortization of SW
  • Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes
