Job Description

The role of Senior Director, Global Digital Channel Strategy & Delivery is critical in defining, creating and executing high impact communications across the enterprise and beyond through all PepsiCo corporate channels. Specifically, this role is responsible for PepsiCo’s communications strategy around CONTENT – what is communicated and in what format it is communicated (text, multimedia, etc.) – and CHANNELS – focusing on our flagship digital communications vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXTERNAL

  • Oversees organic & paid media strategy, development & execution across PepsiCo’s corporate social & digital channels, including web sites
  • Leads team of digital channel managers working with the content COE, priority storytelling team, and other channel owners, to develop holistic storytelling opportunities to execute across multiple digital channels
  • Leads Management and SEO (search engine optimization) of the corporate web site to keep information timely and accurate, working with internal and external partners
  • Guides management of social agency creative partner(s) and internal content production partners in content development, and drives optimization of content to improve social engagement performance
  • Supervises relationship with buying agency to execute a paid media strategy
  • Oversees community management team across owned corporate social channels
  • Interfaces with a variety of internal clients that have stories to share externally, developing strong relationships, and delivering and executing content strategies for various initiatives, events, holidays, awards, and conferences
  • Collaborates and leads the development of digital activation plans for offline events, and digital-only activations, such as sponsorships or branded content publishing partnerships
  • Elevate the function and continue to introduce innovative approaches for driving traffic to the site; Ensure web best practices are met and continue to enhance and refine the user experience
INTERNAL
  • Leads global content creation for internal audiences. Develops the strategy, define and manage the execution of a program of high-quality, inspiring and well-thought-out internal communication campaigns that reinforce key messages across PepsiCo's global business and help to create an informed and engaged workforce
  • Introduces new, innovative internal communications platforms to PepsiCo that push the envelope of what is available to enhance the employee digital experience
  • Advances existing internal digital communications platforms, including the global intranet (“My PepsiCo”), the PEPfeed news hub and mobile app, PepsiCo’s global digital signage network, O365 internal communications tools such as Yammer, and other apps that enhance workplace collaboration, like Zoom
  • Builds strong relationships with key business and functional leaders at the executive level to ensure the ongoing relevance and value of PepsiCo’s internal communication programs
  • Manages LinkedIn ELEVATE and other internal communications programs that strengthen employee engagement and enable social media efforts with employees to reinforce local, regional and global PepsiCo messaging.
  • Responsible for the budget to fund external freelance writers
  • Measures both reach and effectiveness of content campaigns and individual stories, videos, infographics, etc. and insure those learnings are fed back into the content creation process
  • Collaborates with PepsiCo Media Bureau and Corporate Storytelling groups to provide internal communications counsel and advice, and to amplify external stories and sponsorships with internal coverage as appropriate

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including 10 years of digital communications experience; Employee communications experience preferred
  • Deep experience in digital content creation, social channel management and content performance analytics
  • Experience building and maintaining websites
  • Expert understanding of trends in digital content and social and web channel execution
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Passion for social media, mobile and digital trends
  • Fluent of web analytics tools and social listening tools
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed corporate environment and at least five years' experience of working collaboratively within cross-functional global teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of developing and delivering multi-channel communications
  • Keen understanding of current news landscape and the latest social media channels (external to PepsiCo) to bring this understanding to how we deliver news to our employees
