Job Description

PepsiCo eCommerce Team (Europe & Sub-Saharan Africa) is looking for a Marketing Lead to manage the eCommerce marketing agenda for Pureplay customers; and curate, define & share best practices with eCommerce teams across ESSA.
As a member of the eCommerce marketing team, this person will be responsible for helping develop the plans and programs necessary to help meet sales and share targets on Pureplay customers across all brands (e.g. Walkers, Tropicana, Doritos, Quaker, etc.) as well as seeding and scaling new brands in collaboration with the Future Brands team

More specifically;

  • Drive significant growth to meet sales targets, while maintaining/improving overall marketing performance and efficiency,
  • Partner with eCommerce account leads to prioritize and plan marketing activities on customer platforms
  • Find ways to leverage marketing tactics to both increase the number of online Food and Beverage buyers as well as to increase purchasing for existing buyers
  • Transform insights into added value by creating solutions that convert shoppers into buyers
  • Leverage US market learnings to establish a solid performance marketing approach - working closely with UK Digital marketing team & agencies as required
  • Partner with existing brand digital marketing teams to enhance collective spend & approach to drive shared KPIs around engagement & transaction
  • Be part of overall digital media planning across customer platforms ensuring alignment & continuous optimisation & best practise to drive performance
  • Create and activate business driving opportunities at brand, category, and total PepsiCo portfolio level
  • Build relationships with retailer marketing organization to unlock new opportunities for growth and partnership
  • Manage test & learn agenda to identify new opportunities, ensuring clear goals against key activities & partner with Future Brands to early launch on the platform
  • Work closely with existing shopper & brand marketing teams to develop breakout eCommerce marketing activity
  • Drive best practices in Pureplay marketing to wider eCommerce team across ESSA & key stakeholders in sales/marketing teams
  • Continually monitor, evaluate & recommend new innovations and opportunities on customers’ platforms – keeping all relevant parties up to date with latest developments


  • Experience in owning/managing eCommerce marketing & merchandising,
  • Strong analytical skills – able to establish relevant KPIs & commercial goals,
  • Experience establishing & developing performance / eCommerce marketing approaches for leading brands or retailers,
  • Excellent collaboration skills – this is a cross functional role within the eCommerce team and the wider sales & marketing organisations,
  • Solid project management skills – ability to co-ordinate several diverse stakeholders / and to manage performance of external suppliers,
  • Aptitude to learn fast, to absorb and integrate new facts and methodologies into normal operating process,
  • Effective communication skills – accurately identifies the role of different stakeholders & tailors communication messages & style accordingly,
  • Challenge & Influencing Skills – experienced & effective at influencing and challenging senior internal stakeholders and agencies,
  • Strong presentation skills – comfortable presenting internally / externally to all levels,
  • Good attention to detail and ability to spot potential problems and plan to avoid them in advance,
  • Flexible and responsive approach, prepared to discover new solutions to new challenges as they arise and remain tenacious in achieving the required result
  • Embodies entrepreneurial mindset and key values of having a bias for action, results-oriented, community-focused, and prioritization of people,
  • Strong ability to influence and work through others to effectively navigate matrixed organization while ensuring that necessary stakeholders are informed,
  • Ability to manage/drive agenda and thinking with functional reports in a matrixed and virtual environment
