Job Description

  1. Lead process of defining opportunities to support development of PEP strategies within IBP and AOP processes
  • Lead SOM modeling process i.e. projecting market growth, recommending SOM targets in snacks and CSD categories
  • Lead evaluation of country potential in terms of economic and socio-political environment.
  • Lead the process of shopper and competitive opportunities identification and prioritization.
  1. Ensure performance tracking, which provides consistent and clear guide to Management on brand performance and opportunities
  • Secure retail audit coverage and brand KPIs tracking
  • Lead preparation of regular and ad hoc updates of PEP market position and brand performance in priority categories and geographies
  1. Lead and develop customer and shopper insights agenda
  • Leads preparation of yearly shopper and market research plan development
  • Provide strategic input into channel and key customers strategies
  1. CEGB Snacks Marketing Insights
  • Lead and own CEGB marketing insights agenda and annual plan
  • Contribute to the development of Snacks category strategies, must win battles as part of ACP and PSP processes for CEGB markets
  • Leads preparation of deep-dive analyses to address day-to-day business questions at brand, competitor level with aim to identify drivers and fix issues based on different Market data sources
  • Prepare agenda for strategic insights delivery for snacks category
  • Supports portfolio transformation plans and actively guides execution
  • Build Mktg teams Insights capabilities – support in driving data/consumer/shopper culture
  • Support digital transformation agenda for Snacks
  1. Lead and develop MU category management agenda
  • Leading cat man projects with Key Customers in international and local OT
  • Leading preparation of analyses and presentations on market trends, consumer/ shopper behaviors in different categories and distribution channels. Drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
  • Leading definition of merchandising standards for TT store types and key OT customers.
  • Linking marketing plans with action plans for the sales
  • Identifying opportunities for category development in all distribution channels
  • Supporting the AOP process within the Sales Organization
  • Leading the team of Shopper Insight Managers, Analytics and Category Management
  1. Lead and develop CEGB category development agenda
  • Lead definition of category growth opportunities (snacks) and vision at CEGB level from being connected to MU category management teams and Category Development function, elevate the biggest gaps and learning needs, drive awareness of risk and opportunities to CEGB LT members.
  • Coach and lead CEGB cat man people/team
  • Partner with Sales Activation, Revenue Management and Marketing at CEGB level to translate business performance issues and opportunities into cat man – related solutions for selected MUs, channels and customers
  • Proactive seeking of potential chances and opportunities across CEGB using all available data sources as well as active observations
  1. Leading preparation of analyses and presentations on market trends, consumer/ shopper behaviors in different categories Ensure excellent partnership with other functions and external suppliers
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales Activation and Sales Leaders to define right processes and tools which generate powerful insights
  • Act as central reference point on shopper, customer and competitor information for GMs, Marketing, Sales Activation and Sales teams.
  • Inspire other functions to put shopper at the center of sales activation plans via workshops, immersions.
  • Contract and maintain winning relationships with shopper and market data providers, ensuring PEP is on their priority list in terms of quality and speed of services provided

  • Ensure department functional excellence and development
  • Lift and shift PEP insights and category management practices
  • Ensure bench development through recruitment, training, coaching and performance management process
  1. Budgeting
  • Based on PEP standards and procedures and in cooperation with EER leads preparation of shopper and analytics research budgets and secures that financial resources are allocated and spent accordingly.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Functional experience: 10+ years of overall experience in Insights, last 3-5 years in leadership roles. Preferably leading a big MU Insight department (~10 FTEs +), or/and regional (cross-markets) Insights roles. An ideal candidate should have a balance of category and on-the-market experience, delivering self and through others, good partnering experience with adjacent functions incl. category management and/or revenue management and/or marketing and/or sales.
  • Education: MA in economics, sociology, marketing or management
  • Special skills/knowledge: strategic focus, analytical skills along with ability to see big picture, excellent understanding of PEP business model and metrics, marketing and sales KPIs
  • Experience in a matrix setup is required. Solid track record of managing senior stakeholders (both co- and dispersed located)
  • Fast paced, self -starter, eager to learn and navigate ambiguity. Positive, change catalyst, stress resilient. Being able to provide clear guidance up/down in a context of conflicting tasks, overlapping priorities.
  • Proven analytics, data savvy, shopper research experience, i.e.: U&A research, GDMs, price studies, shopper and customer research methodologies
  • Innovative, being able to challenge ‘status quo’ in a positive manner, think out of the box, ready to experiment and take risks.
  • Proven category management team experience, i.e. understand well the trade landscape, trends and drivers, solid project management and leadership record, at least 2-3 years in managerial position, excellent story-telling skills through data, etc.
  • Managerial experience: team management, good relationship building and savvy communication skills
  • Budget management: have substantial experience on budget management at country level
  • Other: fluen English
