General Summary:

The Control Associate Manager is responsible for accounting for a range of areas within PBC and ensures the accuracy of the PBC financial statements. Activities could cover a range of areas – Controllable Costs, Trade Spend, COGS, A&M, and Fixed Assets. This role contributes to the success of Pepsi Beverages Company (PBC) by performing close processes for PBC and supporting various teams i.e. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams; Sales; Supply Chain operations. Role coordinates total PBC financial analyses for P&L and Balance Sheet activity, and prepares support for requests of both internal and external auditors.

Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage period, quarter and annual general ledger and sub-ledger closing process
  • Review and analyze P&L results for accuracy and completeness utilizing metrics and trends including comparisons to prior period, prior year, forecast, and plan
  • Manage and oversee tools utilized to facilitate timely and efficient closes (i.e. Sharepoint sites, SPA boxes, etc.)
  • Review journal entries to ensure complete and accurate financials
  • Review periodic balance sheet reconciliations and schedules, as well as quarterly balance sheet analytics
  • Ensure all data entered into supporting sub-ledger systems (i.e. NIS, TPM, OFA, etc.) is accurate and complete
  • Manage ongoing maintenance of data inputs into sub-ledger system (i.e. NIS, TPM, OFA, etc.)
  • Manage all required system testing
  • Work with various operational teams as well as Control and FP&A counterparts to manage timely submission of periodic results
  • Develop and implement an adequate control environment by executing key controls to ensure alignment with PBC policies
  • Document and review all processes, key controls, and desktop procedures
  • Identify areas of opportunity for automation and simplification of processes
  • Manage, develop and train a team of 3-4
  • Potential oversight of out sourced activities (i.e. Alight, GFSS, IBM)
Additional Support Tasks and Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Senior Manager with consolidated PBC results, including analytics, risks/opportunities, and other ad hoc requests
  • Lead special projects to improve overall Control team performance through process improvements and automation
  • Support Senior Manager by coordinating all internal and external SOX control requests for team


Basic Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of related experience required (CPA/MBA preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel including macros and formulas, with the ability to learn and utilize multiple systems including Oracle, Hyperion and Business Objects
