Job Description

The Sports and Fitness team is looking for a Communications Analyst to join their team of three who develops and executes successful internal and external facing programs on behalf of Gatorade, Propel and Muscle Milk. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the position will allow for experience in program development and oversight, cross-functional collaboration and contribution to best-in-class communications programming.

Specifically, this position will be responsible for:

  • Leading business unit internal communications (including Sales and Plant liaison) and the logistical execution of Town Halls and other strategic internal meetings
  • Contributing to the development and execution of strategic brand communications that meet overall business objectives; plans which deliver earned media impressions
  • Developing and managing communications for new product launches and brand campaigns
  • Driving media relations and storytelling for the brand both proactively and reactively by encouraging positive working relationships with key members of the media including traditional sports, business, nutrition, lifestyle and endurance
  • Developing strong relationships with key, cross-functional partners across disciplines including marketing, legal, consumer relations, R&D / Nutrition as well as other corporate communications colleagues
  • Serving as a liaison with PepsiCo corporate communications to keep them informed of business unit’s ongoing internal & external activity
  • Managing internal monitoring and the development of measurement best practices as well as accurately tracking program results
  • Supporting the management of day-to-day agency partners



  • Bachelor degree required; degree in English, Communications, PR or related field preferred
  • Media relations expertise and existing media relationships focused on sports, nutrition and lifestyle
  • 2+ years of experience in public relations; experience with sports, nutrition, health and wellness, corporate communications is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Considerable event management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills – networking, relationship-building, cross-functional team leadership
  • Proven ability to interface with senior leadership, executive presence
  • High proficiency writing, creative thinking, multi-tasking and collaboration
  • Must be willing and able to conduct occasional travel 15-20% of time
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
