Main Purpose:

The role will act as an indispensable business and thought partner to Dairy GM on key strategic decisions to achieve PSP & AOP goals, whilst systematically building best in class BU & Cat insights capabiliites, processes, talent.

This role will play a key role in delivering our vision and mission with primary responsibility for leading the East Europe Dairy Consumer Insights agenda as well as total Analytics agenda in order to step-change Consumer centricity in EE Dairy team to enable breakthrough innovations and development of strong brands. Use integrated Russia BU-Category Dairy analytical agenda to accelerate profitable growth of Dairy business.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Establish Insights function as indispensable business partner that Lead the delivery of a proactive & impactful insights & analytics agenda
    • Lead development and implementation of agenda in line with ESSA Insights Transformation priorities, while focusing on Dairy business priorities and opportunities
    • Build close relationships with Senior stakeholders developing trust and influencial skills
  2. Build a High Performing Teams (11 employees) across areas
    • Role model and promote within team “business ownership” culture
    • Ensure bench development through training, coaching and performance management process
    • Develop business partnering approach from key team members &drive their roles to influence decisions, challenge (in a constructive way) exisiting solutions as well as partner in developing new solutions
  3. Serve as the voice of Consumer and Data at EE Dairy Category Leadership team
    • Influence critical business decisions being a member of EE Dairy leadership team and bringing independent objective views to forums
    • Promote culture of Consumer/Shopper centricity in all we do leveraging ESSA HIP program
    • Create a platform for knowledge sharing with all respective departments, in order to achieve better quality of all activation we do with the consumer/shopper in mind
  4. Lead process of defining opportunities to support development of PEP strategies and priorities within PSP and AOP processes
    • Lead Situational assessment, identifying and prioritizing growth challenges and opportunities by combining all available external in internal knowledge sources into one compelling story
    • Lead understanding of Mega Trends impacting categories and PEP dynamics
    • Lead scenario planning and target setting process as part of PSP and AOP including market projections, SoM targets setting
  5. Ensure One truth actionable performance tracking, which provides consistent and clear guide to Management on brand performance and opportunities as well as provide direction for solutions development
    • Provide fact-based insights into competitor strategies, sales decomposition, and anticipated future initiatives
    • Lead preparation of regular and ad hoc updates of PEP market position and brand performance in priority categories and geographies leveraging PPD capabilities
    • Establish tracking of actions linked to performance improvement
  6. Systematically build Best in Class and competitively advantaged Consumer Insights & Analytics Capabilities driving growth
  7. Ensure excellent partnership with other functions and external suppliers
    • Partner with Marketing, R&D, Finance, Commercialization Leaders to define right processes and tools which generate powerful insights
    • Partner with BU Dairy Insights lead to ensure full integration of Consumer, Analytics, Shopper and Customer agendas
    • Act as central reference point on Consumer and competitor information for GMs and their leadership teams
    • Inspire other functions to put consumer at the center of all projects via workshops, immersions.
  8. Drive return on Insights investment
    • Be champion of knowledge monetization via ensuring focus on projects that really matter and have visible impact on business
    • Action in mind in all we do
    • Promote education of all functions on Insights tools and capabilities


  • 10+ years of experience across Insights disciplines including Consumer and Analytics; Shopper Insights and Commercial experience is a bonus;
  • Technical Mastery Expertise, Experience and Competence across the full range of tools/methods/process
  • Signficant track record of being a critical business partner to Senior Leaders and significantly shaping long term and short term company strategy and resource allocation to drive sustainable NR and Profit growth
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to see big picture and give direction without getting into too much of details
  • Broad-based business acumen and commercially savvy
  • Experience of setting strategic agenda and vision and aligning resources/ taking broad set of stakeholders with you to deliver multi-year programmes
  • Experience in building a high performing and highly engaged team
  • Extensive people leadership experience, managing matrix teams across geographies and attracting/developing/retaining key talented individuals.
  • Ability to frame problems smartly and understand the key decisions/people we must influence
  • Ability to build deep trusting, collaborative relationships and create strong interdependencies
  • Strong facilitation and questioning skills, including flexibility in approach to problem solving and ability to push beyond the obvious to spot ideas and find innovative and better solutions
  • Ability to synthesize, simplify & persuasively communicate highly complex findings to focus on the critical issues and actionable growth opportunities
  • Excellent sense for organizational dynamics (savvy), including ability to build and leverage networks and strongly influence key stakeholders through formal and informal channels
  • Ability to ensure the work is effectively landed by relentlessly advocating for the right actions to increase probability of success and harness networks to build support/momentum & drive forward
  • Agile, brave and resilient to adapt as situations change, learn from mistakes, navigate ambiguity, operate in the grey and take calculated risks as needed
