This specific role – Foresights – within the Consumer Insights & Analytics organization is tasked with being the eyes and ears of the organization concerning emerging consumer, marketplace, competitive, and retailer trends. As the leader of our Foresights capability, you will be the forward-looking, trusted trends expert for the organization. You will lead all initiatives for gathering, organizing, and making sense of emerging trends relating to consumer needs and wants, product trends (flavor, ingredient, benefit, form/packaging), competitive activity, and retailer strategy. With this information, you will provide key stakeholders with ongoing strategic thought leadership around both the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ relating to key trends, including when and how PepsiCo should act on emerging trends. Top candidates will not only have familiarity with key methods and tools for gathering and synthesizing trends, but also an ability to define new tools and capabilities for trend watching if and as there is a need for such new tools. The knowledge and perspective you generate as our Foresights professional will directly impact (including but not limited to): future growth & shape of the PepsiCo portfolio, new product & innovation opportunities, business & brand strategy, and mergers & acquisitions opportunities.


  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on consumer, marketplace, competitive, and retailer trends
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership around the strategic direction for the overall business and building brands
  • Lead and champion deep understanding of shifts in consumer demand and future-facing foresight (where the puck is going) to define winning business strategies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-to-end process of gathering, embedding, and activating on foresight; including, creating a meaningful cadence of impactful deliverables to key stakeholders, presenting information through engaging storytelling to influence adoption and decision-making, driving action by clearly linking to strategic and creating process for follow-up and ongoing impact
  • Act as key liaison and connection point for trends-related initiatives currently underway at Pepsico, synthesizing knowledge from multiple tools, sources, and Pepsico regions; and consolidating best practices
  • Help assess gaps in current trend watching toolbox and create a vision for any tools/capabilities needed
  • Elevate the impact of the Insights function by challenging the status quo
  • Develop working relationships with cross-functional business teams and the broader Insights organization as well as manage relationships and workstreams with external analytical vendors and data suppliers
  • Influence ongoing longer-term vision for Foresights capability at Pepsico


This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years’ experience in consumer brand/shopper marketing/innovation/insights
  • Experience in managing/synthesizing syndicated and primary consumer research
  • Strategic agenda-setting capability
  • Proven dexterity with complex data
  • Ability to influence within a highly matrixed global environment
  • Proven collaboration abilities, strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Must demonstrate both analytical and creative thinking abilities
  • Strong consulting and project management skills
  • Experience in leading cross-cultural projects
  • Exceptional communicator (verbally and written) – ability to tell a story, synthesize and convey key messages and present in a visual and compelling way
  • Food experience as part of CPG background
  • MBA or applicable Master’s Degree
  • Consulting background
  • Client, agency and/or supplier-side market research or consumer trends background
  • Experience leading consumer research related to the development of brand strategies: positioning, demand spaces, brand stretch, innovation/product strategy
  • Experience in the development and optimization of packaging, communication and advertising tactics, including idea screening, concept optimization, animatic/concept validation and final film/tactic validation (ad testing/packaging testing, etc.)
  • Proficiency in innovation/new concept development techniques including pre-concept conjoint/max-diff research, consumer co-creation techniques and concept optimization and validation research
