Job Description

Routing Flex Specialists are responsible for providing expert level routing coverage for all PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) locations. Flex Specialists must be highly proficient in all routing delivery methods (GEO, Bulk, Bay, & FSV), and also highly versed in all systems (Easitrax, Dispatch, DOC, Roadnet). The responsibilities include vacation, leave, and time-off coverage for Routing Specialist, Routing Sr Specialist, and Field Route Engineers, providing analytical and training support as needed. While covering schedules, the Flex Specialists accountabilities include flawless execution of the delivery routing process while ensuring that cost and productivity objectives are achieved. Flex Specialists use analytics to identify productivity opportunities for Routing Specialists and Field Route Engineers, as well as the Routing Intelligence Organization more broadly. They also must influence field partners to execute changes that improve delivery operations. Flex Specialists communicate proactively, positively, and concisely with field partners at division, market, and location level while demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and adhering to our company values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Weekly / Daily coverage of Routing Specialist and Field Route Engineer schedules
  • Dispatch daily routing using specialized routing software (Pepsi Dispatch, Roadnet, Easitrax, and Bay Mapping applications)
  • Communicate daily with locations to coordinate resources, drivers and trucks, and specific customer delivery needs and routing solution effectiveness
  • Solve daily routing solution by FLEX routing (fewest trucks and drivers) based on daily workload, tight geographical areas, proper sequencing, balanced workload, and customer/driver continuity
  • Ensure routing solution complies with DOT hour and weight regulations
  • Ensure routing solution achieves location productivity targets for hours, stops, and cases
  • Meet location and Routing Intelligence Center (RIC) productivity targets
  • Handle customer and Internal employee interactions in a professional manner
  • Recognize potential issues and solve problems as they arise
  • Serve as LPO for larger locations Go-to-Market projects
  • Responsible for regular score-carding, analytics, and field review
  • Execute period presentation on Routing Intelligence, division, market and location opportunities
  • Provide support for Routing Intelligence capability building and training initiatives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of dynamic routing experience within the Routing Intelligence department
  • Demonstrated consistent execution of the routing process and mastery of Routing Sr Specialist role
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant logistics job experience
  • Advanced MS Office Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness and availability to adapt to a flexible workweek. Must be willing and available to work any schedule, including evening & weekend schedules with short notice
