Job Description

The Category Management Reporting Specialist contributes to PepsiCo Beverages Canada’s success by identify business trends, economic conditions, customer developments, competitive activities, historical learning, and technical developments and highlight the potential impact to PBC objectives. This individual is also responsible for leading the development of data driven reporting solutions that integrate several data sources to highlight opportunities for PepsiCo and our retailers. Ultimately Reporting Specialist is challenged to deliver reporting solutions and lead the access and implementation of selling with insights resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve periodic reporting on an on-going basis
  • Leverage an integrated ‘data lake’ environment to provide rich insights through reporting tools
  • Manage the measures and inputs for the category share review process to ensure share, space, distribution, display and pricing objectives are achieved
  • Compile Category Management Selling Resources (sell stories and presentations) and manage the periodic distribution to the sales team; lead reporting and selling with insights training as req’d
  • Manage Retail Sales Team periodic reporting as required; function as a lead for all reporting requests both internal and external
  • Monitor progress towards achievement of business objectives and effectives of tactics, recommend improvements
  • Develop category, customer, consumer and competitive understanding and translate into strategies and solutions that maximize PBC revenue and profit
  • Develop an understanding & leverage all analytic tools to support Category Management team efforts

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA degree preferred
  • 2+ years previous account management, business analyst or field sales experience in a consumer packaged goods environment; direct store delivery an asset
  • Category management, shelf management or business analysis experience in consumer products goods industry an asset;
  • Knowledge of consumer brand marketing;
  • Self-starter, able to work independently on projects
  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize information to develop understanding and insights
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Suite
  • Technical expertise with database systems (Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI)
  • Technical expertise with Nielsen Workstation Plus an asset
  • Technical expertise with space management software (e.g. Spaceman/ Apollo /ProSpace) strong asset
  • Solid organizational and project management skills – able to establish priorities, strong detailed execution and ability to multi-task;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and own vehicle
  • Some business travel required
