Job Description

The role’s main purpose is to manage the Intercompany settlement for Europe Headquarter (HQ). Europe HQ is made of 7 entities across 4 countries and 5 functional currencies covering the Europe HQ Sector services companies and the SwissCo operating model. The role also includes responsibility for one HQ Legal Entity from a statutory accounting & compliance perspective.

Main Accountabilties:
Intercompany settlement & clear down cost centers:

  • Manage the I/Co and Retained earnings pocess fo HQ entities; provide support to IBM (Outsourced Shared Service Center) Intercompany team in order to minimize differences and explain dispute items (daily interaction with IBM Chennai team)

  • Supervise the flow of invoices from related companies and their acceptance in accordance with applicable procedures

  • Supervise the timely payment process for the liabilities Intercompany receivables; monthly reconciliation of AP and AR ledgers for HQ entities

  • Manage the “clear down cost center” monthly process – reviewing and invoicing

  • Review and invoice quarterly and annual I/CO rebates

  • Oversee the SunCore reporting – reviewing out of balances with markets on monthly basis and providing explanations for Control team

  • Responsibility for participating to Balance Sheet Review and quarterly reports

  • Perform Global Control Standard (GCS) controls testing

  • Co-operation with many stakeholders: HQ USGAAP reporting, Control teams of Business Units across Europe, North America Shared Servcie Center, Human Resources and Global Mobility team, etc..)


Accounting & Compliance:

  • Support the preparation of the statutory accounts of one Europe HQ entity registered in Switzerland

  • Actively support the month-end and quarterly reporting process by performing reconciliation and reviews/analysis of selected accounts

  • Support the move from current Accounting System (Oracle) to SAP 4/HANA planned for year end 2020

  • Continuous tracking of changes to PepsiCo accounting policy & work on efficiency improvement


Other SwissCo & HQ support as required:

  • Support the HQ and SwissCo processes e.g. local payroll processes (Switzerland and UK), processes related to expat employees, recoveries process (statutory invoicing of HQ Services to Europe markets)

Provide ad hoc support to other projects (i.e. Royalty income / expense analysis, analytical reviews of B/S and P/L of the SwissCo entities, assets capitalisation of major Sector projects)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Fluent English

  • Educated to University level or equivalent; ACCA (or similar) qualified and minimum 2 years on independent position within Accounting or Audit Department requiring complex accounting knowledge

  • Solid understanding of USGAAP reporting requirements. IFRS knowledge would also be very useful

  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts, preferably using a software package, such as CaseWare and SAP. Prefer experience using a consolidation package, such as HFM

  • Self-starter with strong problem solving abilities

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

  • ​Ability to develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders from a range of functional backgrounds
