Job Description

  • Set up the contract farming model in Assam.
  • Lead for better Storage Protocols among all Team Members, Assisting Regional Manager
  • Lead the relationship building with local government officials & administrative officers drawing strategic alliance for business sustainability in Assam.
  • Assist regional manager in structuring of AOP for the region
  • Ensuring identification and thereafter sustaining uninterrupted supplies of Potato for the plant – month wise / season wise. Identify / create / develop / grow / Sustain new as well as existing agro contract/Non-contract farming pockets.

ØEnsuring implementation of Contract Farming norm / seed sale / Vendor data base.

  • Identification and development of third-party cold store as per PIH norms for seed / chip grade, maintenance of long term potato stocks as per protocol.
  • Ensure online accounting and documentation of material stored in chip grade/ seed as per SOX requirement in coordination with commercial team at local level & HO.
  • Ensure identification of key supplier - farmers / traders / cooperatives / association / groups / NGO and sustain strategic relationship with them.
  • Ensure discipline amongst partners / suppliers / effective administration and implementation of company policy and standards.
  • Own and drive the Engage Everyday - CSR agenda to develop sustainable relationship with farmers and other stakeholders


Accountabilitieslist in priority order the main accountabilities/deliverables of the role, including key measures. These should be clearly the responsibilities of the JOB HOLDER.
  • Ensuring identification and thereafter sustaining uninterrupted supplies of Potato for the Assam plant – month wise / season wise. Identify / Create / Develop / Grow / Sustain new as well as existing agro farming pockets
  • Execute contract farming procurement as per planning for the year.
  • Acting as Frito Lay’s primary contact point for farmers/ vendors for purposes of deciding prices, obtaining technical guidance, conducting quality checks
  • Identify the new vendors/pockets that would complement / supplement existing plan and increase penetration of program and create opportunities to increase quality.
  • Arrange for timely procurement of material and supply to plant as per requirement & stocks as per plan for year.
  • Ensuring identification and thereafter sustaining long storage stores for uninterrupted supplies of Potato for all the plant – month wise / season wise with in quality specifications
  • Execute annual long storage plan for chip grade & Seed grade potatoes in third party storage.
  • Identify the new cold storage locations to mitigate the growing demands of potatoes in off seasons.
  • Ensure the storage of potatoes in pre-audited cold stores as per PIH protocol for selecting storages.
  • Visit the store periodically and assure the quality maintenances of PIH stock as per set protocols-
- Examining the log sheets which are maintained shift wise to check humidity, temperature in the store and ammonia leakage
- Conducting a physical verification of sample of potatoes to detect any other imminent defects
- Loading and un loading potatoes in the chamber as per company protocol
- Periodical cook test to have a clear understanding on TPOD.
  • Setting & negotiating the commercial & operational terms with cold store.


  • Ensure identification of key supplier - farmers / traders / cooperatives / association / groups / NGO and sustain relationship with them
  • Counseling and coaching to farmer members and growers on best farming practices
  • Build relationship with Vendors and identify potential new vendor / association / NGO etc to mitigate the growing requirement with specific quality norms
  • Maintain ongoing relation ship with the farmers, key members government and suppliers.
  • Ensure discipline amongst partners / suppliers / effective administration and implementation of company policy and standards. Also, maintain relationship with local government officials & administrative officers.
  • Get agreements signs off from vendors/ cold stores
  • Ensure proper documentation as per SOX documentation, buying / procurement documentation , transit documents
  • Implement Ex-Deal purchases / F.O.R deals
  • Set up quality labs and conduct cook test and report buying standards
  • Liaison with local government officials – agricultural / horticulture – arrange field visits and increase farmer connect & get third party endorsement

ØEnsuring implementation of NCF norms / supplier data base and APMC mundi relations.

  • Daily updating and maintenance of dispatch records for all procurements, contractual jobs for loading /unloading, submission of Mundi Tax and reconciliations
  • Handling queries ensuring accurate documentation and completion of formalities as per QC protocol
  • Drive the Agro capability development agenda for the agro region – driving the agri-technological knowledge sharing and competency building within the team.
  • Drive the agenda developed centrally on agro competency development
  • Mentor the new joinees on Agro techno-commercial skills
  • Continuously share internally and externally the agro best practices/ Storage practices
  • Own and drive the Agro Engage Every Day - CSR agenda to develop sustainable relationship with farmers and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other team members to build Agro EED calendar
  • Monitor and ensure compliance of plan vs actual

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Graduate/ PG in Agriculture/ MBA – Marketing / Supply Chain
  • Functional Experience: Approx 5-7 years of experience
  • Language: English, Hindi, Local language preferred
