Job Description

PepsiCo Foods – Quaker Oats Peterborough is looking for a skilled and confident Journeyperson to join our group of electricians supporting plant wide electrical requirements. The candidate will be a support function to the entire Maintenance Team. The position will be required to work 12-hour shifts rotating through days and nights on an assigned crew. Eligible candidates must possess a great understanding of electrical trade with a minimum of 5 years in an industrial setting.

  • Act as the customer service/technical point of contact. You are the first responder to assist with expertise in support of all plant electrical breakdowns
  • Expected to quickly respond and diagnose problems in order to determine best method of repair based on safety and production requirements
  • Capable of assessing failures you must be able to implement alternative solutions to keep production/packaging lines running
  • Excellent written and oral communication/computer skills
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude with drive for improvement

  • Maintenance of site equipment
  • Completion of preventative and predictive maintenance inspections on electrical equipment and repairs for all equipment within the PepsiCo site
  • Preform calibrations and verifications of sensitive equipment to maintain Government and Company Compliance
  • Execute daily assigned work
  • Manage through emergency breakdowns
  • Support in root cause and prevention of future downtime events
  • Work collaboratively with operators, other trades and contractors across the site on breakdown and to reduce downtime, safety and quality risks to keep lines running
  • Effective communication for shift crossovers, work order feedback, production meetings, and activity coordination between other shift members
  • Support in plant projects and become owner of areas and equipment
  • Effectively organize and execute small project and equipment upgrades though out plant

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Certificate of Qualification 309A/442A and Certificate of Apprentice in the province of Ontario
  • Secondary trade license would be an asset
  • Knowledge and Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC Software
  • Knowledge and Experience with Allen Bradley Factory Talk View, Panel Builder and Wonderware
  • Knowledge and Experience with Allen Bradley frequency drives and servo drives
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code
  • Ability to use multimeters, industrial process meters, scopes, power quality equipment, data equipment
  • Ability to perform wiring layout for new or existing installations (i.e. install conduit, replace/repair electrical equipment and distribution equipment including switches, relays and circuit breaker panels)
  • Knowledge and experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for submitting work requests and logging hours
  • knowledge and Experience of Ethernet, Data Highway, Control Net, Device Net and Plant Networks
  • Knowledge and Experience of operational process / packaging equipment
