Walkers are on the look-out for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our high performing marketing team!

As the Senior Marketing Manager of Walkers Snacks and Sharing (including key brands Walkers Max, Wotsits, Monster Munch) you will define & deliver the Brand Strategy, identifying consumer rooted opportunities for growth & galvanizing the business behind the plans to unlock best in class execution. In short, you'll be responsible for ensuring Walkers is the most loved brand in Britain and driving our Snacks and Sharing business by building a brand that is timely in culture and delivers the best crisps and snacks for everyone. As a key leader of the marketing team you’ll also take part in the extending marketing leadership team and drive functional workstream to enhance PepsiCo UK marketing function.

What will you be doing?

In a Tweet, you will act as the leader of the Walkers Snacks and Sharing business; developing the Brand expressions (Design system, look &feel, TOV and sonics), crafting relevant consumer innovations and activations on PC to engage the nation, and executing an ‘always-relevant’ comms architecture to establish the new brand positioning and re-establish the Walkers brand at the heart of modern British culture.

At the heart of this role is the desire to bring together and integrate the voice of customer, consumer and shopper to transform the way we do marketing and more effectively and nimbly adjust and improve our brand plans to deliver our financial and brand equity goals.

You'll help to lead the Walkers Snacks and Sharing PSP and develop the long term calendar and key activities to consistently deliver the right Consumer and customers solutions based on the category growth levers – to make Walkers the most loved and biggest brand in UK.

In More Detail You Will:

  • Worrking closely with Category to influence and lead the 3+ year growth plan strategy to establish Walkers as the most loved brand in Britain – defining clear JBTDs and actions to drive brand growth by rooting plans in clear consumer insight, isolating sizeable opportunities, involving X-functional teams to grow Walkers ahead of market.
  • Working closely with Category to influence and lead the NPD, activation and communication development,
  • Lead & coach a team of 3, building their core brand-building expertise, digital savviness, and executional marketing skills.
  • Manage Walkers Snacks and Sharing A&M budget, securing appropriate investment to unlock brand opportunities and proactively manage trade-offs across the year.
  • Lead one of the marketing vision workstreams, define the transformational agenda for this specific area of marketing and implement with the support of Brand Manager assigned to this workstream, impacting the full function.
  • Work closely with insights and media teams to identify ‘tent-pole’ passion points for Brits that Walkers will activate against at scale, alongside lower-level passion points the brand can activate against more tactically.
  • Partner with external agencies to develop the Walkers ‘brand book’ to create elevate our interactions with consumers and drive consistency in every single consumer and shopper touchpoint, whilst engaging and inspiring everyone that has the joy of working on Walkers.
  • Partner with Insights to develop a measurement plan for the objective, course-correcting as required through the year

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong Marketing experience with proven experience of creating and repositioning brands to meet against consumer needs, delivering successful communication programs, innovation launches and brand activations.
  • Experience of working with multiple external agencies to brief, develop and execute integrated campaigns across multiple channels
  • Total Connections Planning: ability to translate ideas into consistent and targeted executions across relevant touchpoints
  • Consumer Obsessed: A passion for consumer experiences, with ability to use research and data to drive actionable insights to inform marketing strategy and improve the consumer experience
  • Digitally savviness - understanding of how brands grow in a modern marketing world
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to synthesise and integrate learning from multiple sources and see the connections in data, trends and events to generate insights.
Leadership:
  • Strong Leadership experience of managing & coaching multiple direct reports and the ability to inspire various stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial spirits & proactive who challenge the status quo and build disruptive thinking
  • Ability to manage and influence senior management with plans and recommendations - turning complex business cases into easy to digest sound bites
  • Excellent collaboration & networking skills that can navigate a cross-functional matrix
