Job Description:
People Cost:
The packaging analyst will be responsible for the regional analytical packaging laboratory, to run all packaging analysis, define analytical procedures, specify and quote new Lab equipment, issue technical reports with technical recommendation to solve packaging quality issues and also control all the packaging documents, such as procedures, Specifications and standards for the Latam South PepsiCo food division and to support innovation and productivity projects. This position is also the packaging analytical focal point for all packaging community in Latam South sector. Support trials on the pilot plant, coordinating trials, keeping it keep and running and procedures updated.
Manage all analytical priorities of low, medium and high complexity to support innovation and productivity projects
Support general packaging specification creation and maintenance on the system
Make the analysis and issue the reports, supporting all countries and addressing quality issues
Guarantee the organization and operation of the Laboratory, coordinate 5S, as well as the maintenance and control of equipment calibration agenda, supply of solvents and gasses
Support the line manager and the packaging coordinators on projects of low and medium complexity, running preliminary trials and preparing mock ups;
To recommend technical adjusts on packaging based on analytical results
To support all productivity projects that require analytical results
To develop procedures to run new lab equipment
To develop and review all packaging procedures for Latam South sector together with line manager/coordinators
To research and build future investments for the laboratory
To control the laboratory budget
Support new packaging supplier homologation with analytical reports
Interaction with other labs in the Tech Center, in order to guarantee best practices are applied
Run trials in the pilot plant in order to support all kind of packaging projects – interaction with Latam South packaging team to forecast budget based on projects on the pipeline that will require machine trials.

  • English and Spanish intermediate or fluent
    Engineering, Chemical, Production or mechanical technology/ Science or related scientific subject,
    A minimum of 1 year operational experience at a technological level working with packaging development, or packaging quality control, or packing, or packaging manufacturing
    Extra Comments:
    To influence the packaging team positively to follow the packaging specification standards and share point in all countries and train all related areas from Global, regional and local teams.
    To influence the team positively regarding the packaging analysis and how to use it to increase assertiveness and speed up projects (reducing trials at the production plant)
    To install new pieces of equipment already bought for the Lab
