PepsiCo is looking for an innovative Associate Manager of Shopper Marketing who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment to develop the strategy and elevate the level of the marketing partnership, volume, sales and brand equity for PepsiCo Beverages North America at Walmart, Inc.

This experience will develop and showcase the ability to strategically evaluate business opportunities, develop deep consumer empathy to address consumer-based opportunities, and bring programs to market to positively impact brand equity, sales and profitability. This role is customer-facing and enables the employee to gain invaluable perspective on Walmart Inc.’s strategic and business priorities.

This role leads the work to drive PepsiCo (PEP) growth by improving the shopper experience, engaging and converting the shopper by:

  • Translating insights and developing integrated omnichannel programs, including media-to-shelf, portfolio and customer programs to engage and convert the shopper
  • Developing and partnering with the sales team to sell-in shopper marketing programs that integrate equity and customer strategy to deliver best in class shopper programming
  • Supporting Walmart, Inc. Joint Business Planning & Strategic Engagement Sessions for the PBNA portfolio
Accountabilities:
  • Lead development and execution of key carbonated soft drink programs at Walmart
  • Lead activation of the Gatorade and chilled juice portfolios at Walmart (Naked, Tropicana & KeVita)
  • Oversee development and execution of select Power of One PepsiCo programs such as Super Bowl, American Jobs, Summer & Fall Football
  • Translate brand strategy into winning shopper engagement programs and plans; lead agency briefings and manage all aspects of program development and execution
  • Support Joint Business Planning – customer and sales team partnership, deck development, brand alignment
  • Utilize new shopper engagement tools and experiment with future-focused engagement tools and techniques (across such platforms as digital, social, mobile)
  • Use appropriate governance processes to ensure approval and alignment for all aspects of activation
  • Actively collaborate with Brand Teams, Customer Teams, Sales, Sales Strategy, Insights, Category Leadership, and other functional leads to support Joint Business Planning and program execution
  • Actively oversee the management of the PBNA Shopper A&M budget
  • Summarize and communicate program impact, lessons learned, and incorporate learning into future program development
Critical Wiring:
Internal
  • Collaborate with Shopper Insights, Brand and Sales on JBP Planning
  • Collaborate with Category and Customer Leadership to develop content for Customer Strategic Engagement Sessions
  • Collaborate with Brand teams on the AOP plans
  • Collaborate with Brand Leads to translate BU business drivers to the execution plan
  • Collaborate with Finance on budget management and post-program analysis
External
  • Lead and manage all agency relationships and Brand program budgets
  • Collaborate with customer leads through JBP process to identify and to develop promotion, packaging and product offerings to enable Walmart and PepsiCo growth

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: Undergraduate Degree
  • Preferred: MBA with a concentration in Marketing
Skills/Capabilities:
  • Ability to analyze relevant data, insights and information to identify opportunities and develop a strategy and plans to address
  • Ability to effectively lead, collaborate, communicate and influence in a matrix environment
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple agendas and develop the appropriate strategies and plans

  • Strong analytical ability
  • Must demonstrate professional maturity – ability to manage up/down, strong interpersonal & communication skills for interaction with internal/external senior leaders
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of prior marketing experience
  • MBA with a concentration in Marketing
  • Prior marketing experience within consumer packaged goods
