Job Description

PepsiCo is seeking communications professional to join our dynamic Global Corporate Communications Media Bureau team. From the nucleus of the PepsiCo Communications Function, this role will support corporate reputation management and proactive storytelling across the company’s mission & vision, industry-leading capabilities and major global announcements with the external earned press.

Accountabilities of this role include:

  • Front-line responsibility for inbound inquiries with key members of the press, including drafting proposed press responses
  • Proactive outreach and earned coverage placement around priority storylines and in support of widespread global corporate announcements
  • Maintaining and building relationships with influential reporters, press outlets and influencers
  • Owning the PepsiCo Master Media List and developing targeted media lists specific to storylines and announcements
  • Crafting written external outreach materials (e.g. pitches, key messages, storyline overviews)
  • Collaboration across the communications function to leverage, amplify and create supporting assets to strengthen storytelling (e.g. owned content)
  • Assistance in identifying appropriate earned KPIs and leading the ongoing reporting and showcasing of earned media results

Qualifications/Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, news-driven environment within a large global company or PR agency
  • Outstanding understanding of the media, media climate and news cycle
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with members of the press
  • Ability to proactively story-mine and identify a strong news story
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • A genuine interest in, and understanding of, earned media and news
  • A strong appetite for current events and how they impact business
  • An understanding of social media and the changing media landscape
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University with a focus on Communications/English
  • Strong writer
