Job Description

The Server Patching Sr Analyst will facilitate planning and executing a global approach to patching infrastructure systems and reducing the average number of critical vulnerabilities per server. The Sr Analyst will moderate and engage in analyzing vulnerabilities, identifying relevant threats, recommending patching solutions, facilitating patch remediation efforts when necessary, summarizing the results, while obtaining alignment between the Global Technology and Information Security teams. This role will have daily interactions with vendors, infrastructure teams, and application teams across the globe.

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly governance of vulnerability reduction within PepsiCo

  • The Sr Analyst will collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to address the end to end security patching process

  • Collaborate with Information Security organization to identify initiatives, develop remediation strategies, and report on vulnerability reduction

  • Govern agent health against CMDB inventories

  • Ensure proper communications and update of CMS

  • Monitors for vulnerabilities, remediation, and threats

  • Govern vulnerability remediation prioritization

  • Oversees the testing of patches and patch remediation

  • Govern the deployment of vulnerability remediation

  • Govern automated deployment of patches

  • Verifies vulnerability remediation through vulnerability scanning and reporting

  • Partner with support to address knowledge, incident, and request management for Server Patching

  • Shares responsibility in resolving issues using best practice ITIL incident/problem management processes

  • Partners with business, IT backline teams and other technology partners to prioritize security patching of critical global infrastructure

  • Leverages cooperative relationships with IT, Information Security, Application teams, and external partners to address complex business and technical issues

  • Partners with external vendors to ensure PepsiCo expectations and needs are met

  • Partners with infrastructure and/or IT support team management (DR, UNIX, Intel, DB, Network) to ensure the average number of critical vulnerabilities is reduced per server

  • Govern infrastructure security standards for global server patching

  • Serve as the conduit between a set of application and the technology services team

  • Provide frequent updates, reports and communication to stakeholders

  • Provide quality assurance of services and ensures the team meets expectations

  • Ensure alignment with global processes and standards

  • Ensure compliance with key vulnerability and security controls

  • Strong ITIL Process Skills - Incident Management, Problem management, Change management Configuration management.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Operating Systems and Securing of OS through patching and configuration management

  1. Key Skills/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, information security or equivalent work experience

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience on security analysis tools, infrastructure tools, process, and reporting

  • Experience with Windows Server (v2003 – v2016)

  • (Preferred) Experience with Linux (SUSE/Red Hat) or Unix (AIX/HP)

  • (Preferred) Experience with patch management deployment to Windows Servers using IBM BigFix or similar experience with system management tools (SCCM, Symantec Altiris, etc...)

  • Experience supporting complex technical solutions

  • Experience supporting technical audience in high-availability critical environments

  • An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business

  • Partnering with cross-functional business and technology teams to prioritize requirements, issues, possessing the depth and breadth of knowledge in technology in order to execute and support project deliverable

  • An understanding of organizational mission, values, and goals and consistent application of this knowledge

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, information security or equivalent work experience

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience on security analysis tools, infrastructure tools, process, and reporting
