Job Description

Main Purpose

  • This position reports to the APAC Trading Controller and is a high exposure, high impact position that entails flexibility and intensive interaction with the MU senior management, BU senior management, Business Partners
  • Manages the financial reporting (covering Financial Reporting & Fixed Assets) and financial services (AR, AP & Payroll) processes focusing on the provision of accurate and timely reporting (including PepsiCo, SEC, BIR, BOC, etc) through establishing / maintaining accounting policies and practices to deliver accurate and reliable information for business operations / decision and control optimization
  • Leads the review and analysis of consolidated financial results of the Market Unit to facilitate assessment and performance reviews, issues identification and development of corrective action plans.
  • Drives best practice across the financial accounting and financial services teams. This will include process improvement and re-design, challenging of the status quo and building a close working relationship with the key leaders in the business and the SSC BPO.
  • Ensure MU compliance with PEP policies and all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations
  • Safeguard company assets by maintaining high level of financial control through the MU
  • Be the centre of expertise in providing effective accounting guidance on business issues and initiatives, on all financial accounting and controls related matters

Accountability

Reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, Lead and coordinate monthly closing and reporting process and ensure all income statement, balance sheet and cash flow adjustments and validations are reviewed prior to submitting results to Sector.
  • Develop own skills to become the subject matter expert for the MU on HFM reporting
  • Track and report PTR and drive corrective actions
  • Perform reviews of key and non key accounts and support APAC FOBO / Trading Controller on overall BSR and drive closure on review points
  • Prepare and provide management comments on cause of change in profit & loss (P&L), operating cash flow (OCF) and key performance indexes (KPIs)
  • Monitor changes in days of payable outstanding (DPO) and days of collection and sales outstanding (DCSO) and provide recommendations to improve
  • Prepare and present, if needed, to senior Leadership Team monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages and variance analysis (HFM, reports, compliance documents, and presentations)
  • Coordinate ad hoc request and become business point of contact on any inquiries/reporting regarding reported numbers and business drivers to BU/Sector
  • Manages the effectiveness of the day-to-day financial transactional activities outsourced to the SSC BPO through review of key reports and metrics, escalating any recurring issues to the Sector Process Leads and/or Service Delivery Manager
  • Support execution of MU initiatives, business actions and priorities


Statutory compliance
  • Manages ongoing relationships with external service providers (auditors, tax/legal advisors, company secretary, bankers).
  • Liaison with external auditors on statutory audit queries and ensure smooth completion
  • Draft statutory financial statements
  • Liaison with company tax agent on tax compliance matters to ensure timely submission of tax returns, tax estimates and responding to queries from tax authority
  • Ensure compliance on secretarial matters, for eg. Seeking board of directors approval for dividends repatriation, minutes representation, adoption of financial statements etc
  • Coordinates and supports the Sector/Corporate treasury on the cash mobilization plan for PEP entities.
  • Be the guardian to safekeep statutory documents for MAP MU


Financial process management
  • Develop and lead implementation of financial policies/guidelines
  • Primary liaison for communication and updates or resolution of key accounting, reporting and control issues between MU and BU/IBM/Sector
  • Lead assessment of impact to MU of any changes in accounting and tax regulations
  • Support MU implementation of best practices financial tools which improve accuracy, timelines and cost effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting, which are responsive to the needs of customers, suppliers and internal partners


Credit Collection
  • Ensure proper credit limits and risk profiles are defined for every customer / bottler
  • Ensure close monitoring of receivables and close collaboration with Commercial to recover overdue receivables
  • Review and sign off on invoicing process and issuance of credit / debit notes
  • Prepare quarterly recons with key customers to ensure balances reflected are correct

Controls
  • Safeguard company assets by maintaining high level of financial control through the MU
  • Partner with planning to review STB/A&M categorization and budget control
  • Ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
  • Lead implementation of PepsiCo risk management initiatives and best practices
  • Ensure MU compliance with PEP policies and all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations

People development
  • Build requisite general accounting and tax capabilities in Accounting
  • Build control awareness among MU employees
  • Be the centre of expertise on all financial accounting and controls related matters
  • Leads, motivates and develops a team to building capability whilst ensuring activities are completed accurately and timely.

GCS Control
  • As FR, OTC, PTP control owner, perform control roles and responsibility in accordance with PepsiCo Accountability model. Support Process Owner in driving GCS agenda. Understand the objective of the assigned control(s) and document the test script attributes for effective execution of the control, evaluate control effectiveness through testing as per GCS guidelines and maintain an audit trail to evidence execution of the activities. Ensure timely remediation of any control deficiencies.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualification

  • CPA / CA / Graduate degree with specialization in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience in finance & accounting related area; specifically in audit and controls (same industry experience preferred)
  • SAP and HFM experience/knowledge
  • Individual needs to be independent, process driven, enjoys problem solving and challenges and has the ability to articulate issues and share ideas effectively, handle multiple priorities and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to network and utilize internal/external resources effectively

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and a successful track record in liaising with any and all key stakeholders
  • Good understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Statutory accounting experience
